Abstract:
A method of performing a seismic survey of a hydrocarbon reservoir in the earth formations beneath a body of water includes deploying a seismic cable from a drum carried by a remotely operated vehicle on the seabed. The cable is deployed into a lined trench, which is formed either concurrently with cable deployment or during a previous survey, to ensure good repeatability of successive surveys of the reservoir, in order to enable changes in characteristics of the reservoir, eg due to depletion, to be monitored.
Abstract:
A method and system for displaying and reporting project completion information of a large-scale project having a number of individual subprojects. A rollup agent is employed for acquiring project completion information from a number of subproject databases to provide overall project-wide display and reporting capabilities. The rollup agent collects and organizes the information, and stores it on a rollup database. The rollup agent also interacts with a user to select aspects of any subprojects to report or display. The rollup agent then creates and stores reports of the selected information, or displays the report interactively as a pop-up summary report or a spreadsheet format report to a user. A number of scheduled agents provide scheduled reporting at the subproject level. A number of on demand agents provides the interactive database view, pop-up reporting and spreadsheet reporting for each of the individual subprojects.
Abstract:
A bite block assembly for use during a diagnostic, surgical or other medical procedure is disclosed. This device includes a bite block body for insertion into the mouth of a patient containing two passageways, the first, a through passageway, positioned to receive a medical instrument to be inserted into the patient, the second, an air-sampling passageway, provides a pathway for exhaled air to exit the mouth of the patient. The air-sampling passageway is constructed to receive a gas sampling tube partially disposed in the air-sampling passageway or completely disposed in the air-sampling passageway. The gas sampling tube connects a respiratory cannula with gas sampling port, located on the face of the patient to the air-sampling passageway of the bite block.
Abstract:
A method and system for synchronizing M application rules across N database instances. Each database instance has a same structural design. N and M are each at least 2. A rule synchronization agent is executed which updates N1 database instances with the M application rules and does not update a remaining N-N1 database instances with the M application rules if N1 is equal to N. N1 is at least 1. If N1 is less than N, then each of the remaining N-N1 database instances include a first and/or second characteristic. The first characteristic is that the remaining database instances include the M application rules upon initiation of the executing. The second characteristic is that the agent is unable to access the remaining database instance during the executing.
Abstract:
A method for delivering intravenous drugs to a patient comprising programming a drug delivery system, including a controller and an infusion pump, with a maintenance rate or a loading dose for a drug and causing the drug delivery system to (a) calculate a loading dose based on the maintenance rate or a maintenance rate based on the loading dose, (b) administer the loading dose of the drug to the patient to rapidly achieve a desired level of effect, and (c) administer the drug at a first maintenance rate to maintain the level of effect.
Abstract:
A method for delivering a sedation drug comprising administering a drug to a patient while requesting the patient to respond to an instruction, monitoring a patient's BIS values, bringing the patient to a level of anesthesia where the patient fails to respond to the request within a predetermined response time, and determining a BIS value that coincides with the level of anesthesia corresponding to the failure to respond.
Abstract:
First and second pant legs are removably attached to a pair of shorts to form a pair of long pants. A pouch is attached to an interior surface of the first pant leg. The pouch has a mouth that is accessible through an opening in the first pant leg. The pouch is dimensioned and positioned to receive the first and second pant legs after they have been removed from the shorts and folded up.
Abstract:
Dynamic allocation of connections is performed in a communication network. When a new connection request is received by the network management system this request can be accepted or rejected. In case it is accepted, the connection can be set up by allocating new or reconfiguring existing connection resources. The reconfiguration options are constrained to a set of allowed reconfigurations which is a subset of the set of all possible reconfigurations of the existing connections on the network.
Abstract:
An embodiment of the present invention provides a method of directional coupling, comprising utilizing the phase shift inherent in existing networks within an RF circuit to be monitored; and associating a plurality of capacitors and at least one termination resister with said RF circuit to enable said directional coupling. The plurality of capacitors may be three and said at least one termination resister may be one. In an embodiment of the present invention the RF circuit may be an impedance matching network or a filter.
Abstract:
A dispensing closure assembly includes a container having a threaded finish portion, at least one modular sealed vial that contains a substance, and a closure cap that is adapted to be screwed on to the container. The closure cap includes a closure main body having a top portion and a downwardly depending sidewall portion that is adapted to be secured to the container. An insert is positioned between the closure cap and the container for opening the modular sealed vial when the closure cap is screwed on to the container. A method of dispensing a substance into the container is also disclosed.
