A slurry composition for a chemical mechanical processing process includes about 0.05 to about 0.3 percent by weight of a ceria abrasive, about 0.005 to about 0.04 percent by weight of an anionic surfactant, about 0.0005 to about 0.003 percent by weight of a polyoxyethylene-based nonionic surfactant, about 0.2 to about 1.0 percent by weight of a salt of polyacrylic acid having an average molecular weight substantially greater than a molecular weight of the anionic surfactant, and a remainder of water. In addition, a method of polishing an object layer and a method of manufacturing a semiconductor device using the slurry composition are also provided.

A method and apparatus for pilot signal transmission is disclosed, which is capable of improving efficiency in a wireless communication system, the method comprising transmitting an uplink transmission frame for a first sector or cell by a mobile station through the use of basic pilot pattern in a resource block and transmitting an uplink transmission frame for a second sector or cell by the mobile station through the use of shift pilot pattern which is not overlapped with the basic pilot pattern in the resource block.

An additive composition for a slurry contains a first salt of polymeric acid including a first polymeric acid having a first weight average molecular weight and a first base material, and a second salt of polymeric acid including a second polymeric acid having a second weight average molecular weight and a second base material. A slurry composition is prepared by mixing the additive composition, a polishing particle composition, and water. When implementing a chemical mechanical polishing using the slurry composition, a favorable polishing selectivity is realized.

An apparatus and method for receiving data in a mobile station for a mobile communication system using multi-user packet data are provided, in which a preamble power measurer measures preamble power of the multi-user packet data received from a base station and transmits the result value to a controller. The controller compares the measured power with a predetermined threshold, simultaneously decodes the multi-user packet data according to all transport formats if the measured power is lower than the threshold, and decodes the multi-user packet data according to a predetermined transport format if the measured power is higher than or equal to the threshold. A plurality of decoders decode the received multi-user packet data according to a control signal from the controller, wherein the number of the decoders depends upon the total number of transport formats for the multi-user packet data.
