Abstract:
An antenna includes a non-conductive pane, a ground plane disposed on the non-conductive pane, and a radiating strip disposed on the non-conductive pane for operating in a plurality of frequency bands. The radiating strip defines a plurality of loops. A portion of a periphery of one of the loops coincides with at least a portion of a periphery of another of the loops. The radiating strip also includes at least one branch extending away from the periphery of one of the loops to allow tuning and shifting of the resonant frequencies of the antenna.

Abstract:
Techniques of magnetic field distribution are described herein. The techniques may include forming a wireless charging component including a driving coil to receive a driven current generating a magnetic field. An outer turn of a parasitic coil may be formed, wherein the outer turn is adjacent to the driving coil. An inner turn of the parasitic coil may be formed, wherein an inductive coupling between the driving coil and the parasitic coil generates a redistribution of a portion of the magnetic field at the inner turn.
Abstract:
An antenna system and method utilize a splitter electrically connectable to a single antenna for splitting an RF signal into two signals. A variable phase shifter shifts the phase of one of the signals. A combiner combines the phase shifted and non-phase shifted signals to produce a conditioned signal. A quality examiner circuit changes the amount of phase shift provided by the variable phase shifter to produce a plurality of different conditioned signals. The quality examiner circuit then determines a quality of each conditioned signal and changes the phase shift again to provide the highest quality conditioned signal to a receiver.

Abstract:
Embodiments of a display device for a vehicle and methods for the same can adjust operation velocity and stroke of a monitor by changing simple mechanical configurations of a driving apparatus for the monitor in the display device. The display device for a vehicle can include a monitor in a case for displaying an image on its front surface and a movable unit that can be installed to the case to reciprocally move the monitor. A control lever can be installed between the monitor and the movable unit to be inclined at a predetermined angle and configured to cooperate with the movable unit. Therefore, it is possible to provide an inexpensive display device capable of satisfying a variety of users' needs and design requirements.
Abstract:
The invention provides a method of operating a patch antenna having a radiating element. The radiating patch is excited and generates a circularly polarized radiation beam solely in a higher order mode at a desired frequency. This allows for the radiating element to have a small surface area with the radiating beam tilted away from an axis perpendicular to the radiating element. Thus, the patch antenna provides a relatively small footprint and excellent RF signal reception from SDARS satellites at low elevation angles.

Abstract:
A heater cover for microwave ovens using halogen heaters in addition to magnetrons is disclosed. The above heater cover is designed to have an optimal opening ratio while effectively protecting the halogen heaters from microwaves and having a desired structural strength. On the heater cover, a plurality of perforations are formed along a plurality of rows with both the same interval between the perforations and a radius "r" of each perforation being three times or more of the interval. The interval between horizontal phantom lines, passing through the centers of the perforations arranged on the rows, is shorter than the diameter "2r" of each perforation. The relation between the radius "r" of each perforation and the wavelength ".lambda." of microwaves is expressed by the expression, .lambda./64 .ltoreq.2r .ltoreq..lambda./8. The interval between the perforations ranges from 0.5 mm to 2 mm.
Abstract:
A peripheral device in need of power supply connected to a parallel port of an expansion device linking the portable computer system, and to a parallel port of the portable computer system, which will be supplied power through the parallel port. In this computer system, the first parallel port must be installed and the second parallel port must be extended from the portable computer to the expansion device. And between the first and second parallel port, the first and the second peripheral device interconnection recognizing mechanism must be equipped to recognize the type of peripheral device. Also the first and the second power supply must be equipped to cut off or on the power to the peripheral device through the parallel port when the first and the second peripheral device interconnection recognizing mechanism give the recognizing signal. Furthermore the first power supply and the second power supply mechanism doesn't supply power when it recognizes that no peripheral device is connected to the first and second parallel port, or a peripheral device with no need of the power supply is connected. The first and the second power supply mechanism supplies power to a peripheral device through the first and second parallel port when it recognizes that a peripheral device in need of power supply is connected to the first parallel port and the second parallel port.
