    摘要: An optical lens system that focuses both a first band of wavelengths and a second band of wavelengths onto a common focal plane. In some cases, the lens system includes a first region for focusing a first band of wavelengths onto a focal plane, and a second region for focusing a second band of wavelengths onto the same focal plane. Depending on the wavelengths and materials involved, the first region may or may not focus the second band of wavelengths onto the focal plane, and in some cases, may or may not even transmit the second band of wavelengths to the focal plane. Likewise, the second region may or may not focus the first band of wavelengths onto the focal plane, and in some cases, may or may not even transmit the first band of wavelengths onto the focal plane, but this is not required. In some embodiments, an additional lens may be provided between the lens system and the common focal plane to help focus the first band of wavelengths and the second band of wavelengths onto the common focal plane. The additional lens may be made from a material or material system that transmits and focuses both the first band of wavelengths and the second band of wavelengths.

More particularly, a system for generating hydrogen gas by reacting water vapor with a substantially non-fluid substance and transporting the generated hydrogen gas to the fuel cell which generates electrical power. Reacting water vapor with the non-fluid hydrogen generating substance rather than liquid water prevents caking of the non-fluid substance and deposition of byproducts onto the non-fluid substance that interfere with continued generation of hydrogen gas.

    摘要: A tunable bolometer device for detecting infrared light (IR) from a target at specific frequencies and in a broadband mode. The device may have an array of pixels of which each is controllable to be sensitive to a particular wavelength of light that is selected and detected. The detection of particular frequencies on a pixel level may result in spectral analysis of the target. Further, each pixel of the bolometer via an associated etalon may be tuned to detect a different frequency of IR or be switched to broadband detection of IR. The device may be packaged in an integrated vacuum package where the etalon array becomes the topcap which is bonded to the wafer containing the bolometer array.

    摘要: A gas sensor includes a gas detector, a reference gas generator, and a circuit. The reference gas generator includes a heater and a gas releasing material. The gas releasing material is in proximity to the heater such that, when the heater is energized during calibration, the gas releasing material releases an overpressure of a reference gas to the gas detector and such that, when the heater is not energized, the gas releasing material releases no substantial overpressure of the reference gas to the gas detector. The circuit energizes the heater during calibration and is responsive to an output of the gas detector during the period when the gas detector is provided the reference gas so as to calibrate the gas sensor.

    摘要: A method and apparatus to reduce undesirable deficiencies in an image produced by a microbolometer array including multiple smaller arrays includes applying a separate bias pulse to each of the microbolometers in the smaller arrays and measuring a resulting signal corresponding to the applied bias pulse for each of the microbolometers using multiple measurement circuits associated with the smaller arrays during the frame time. Further, one or more known bias pulses are applied to the measurement circuitry during the frame time, one or more resulting calibration signals are measured, an offset parameter for each of the smaller arrays based on the corresponding measured resulting calibration signals is computed, and the measured resulting signal is corrected using the associated computed offset parameter to produce an output signal that reduces the undesirable deficiencies in the image produced by the array.

    摘要: An infrared imaging array of thermoelectric sensors has a plurality of electrically connected microbridge subsensors comprising each sensor of the array. Each subsensor consists of a short span microbridge lying across a relatively small pit. The use of many of such subsensors for each sensor rather than a single large area microbridge sensor for a single pixel allows each pixel to be made large enough to give good sensitivity in either vacuum or gas-filled designs, and at the same time avoid the reduced fabrication yield which results when sensors span large pits.
