The plurality of monomers is irradiated by an energy source configured to generate microwave frequency energy. Irradiation cases the plurality of monomers polymerize into a silica nanoparticle.

摘要: A layered perovskite structure comprising a substrate having an upper surface and a lower surface; and a layer of a perovskite film on the upper surface. A passivating layer may be applied to the upper surface of the substrate to which the perovskite film is attached. The passivating layer comprises at least one a chalcogenide-containing species with the general chemical formula (E3E4)N(E1E2)N′C═X where any one of E1, E2, E3 and E4 is independently selected from C1-C15 organic substituents comprising from 0 to 15 heteroatoms or hydrogen, and X is S, Se or Te, thiourea, thioacetamide, selenoacetamide, selenourea, H2S, H2Se, H2Te, or LXH wherein L is a Cn organic substituent comprising heteroatoms and X═S, Se, or Te. The substrate comprises PEDOT:PSS, and may further comprise a layered glass/ITO/PEDOT:PSS structure. A passivating layer is applied to the PEDOT:PSS layer, and a top electrode may be applied over the perovskite film.

摘要: A method of making a quasi-phase-matching (QPM) structure comprising the steps of: applying a pattern to a substrate to define a plurality of growth regions and a plurality of voids; growing in a growth chamber a crystalline inorganic material on only the growth regions in the pattern, the crystalline inorganic material having a first polarity; applying an electric field within the growth chamber containing the patterned substrate with the crystalline inorganic material, wherein the electric field reaches throughout the growth chamber; and growing a crystalline organic material having a second polarity in the voids formed in the inorganic material under the influence of the electric field to influence the magnitude and the direction of the second polarity of the crystalline organic material, wherein the second polarity of the crystalline organic material is influenced to be different from the first polarity of the crystalline inorganic material in magnitude and/or direction.

摘要: Fully connected uplink and downlink fully connected relay network systems using pseudo-noise spreading and despreading sequences subjected to maximizing the signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio. The relay network systems comprise one or more transmitting units, relays, and receiving units connected via a communication network. The transmitting units, relays, and receiving units each may include a computer for performing the methods and steps described herein and transceivers for transmitting and/or receiving signals. The computer encodes and/or decodes communication signals via optimum adaptive PN sequences found by employing Cholesky decompositions and singular value decompositions (SVD). The PN sequences employ channel state information (CSI) to more effectively and more securely computing the optimal sequences.

摘要: A process for recovering a vehicle includes obtaining a red green blue (RGB) image comprising a target on a recovery device. An input received from a user designates a target hue value and a target luminance value. The RGB image is converted to a hue value saturation (HSV) color model. The HSV color model is split into a hue value plane and a luminance value plane. A hue band pass filter and a luminance band pass filter are configured with appropriate thresholds. The configured hue band pass filter and the luminance band pass filter are applied to the hue value plane and the luminance value plane, respectively. The filtered hue value plane and the filtered luminance value planes are combined to yield a plurality of potential target pixel groupings. The most probable target is determined from the plurality of potential target pixels. The vehicle is directed to the target.

摘要: A fixed compliant wing system is provided that is coupled to a rigid spar and a rigid stopper. The fixed compliant wing system includes an actuator and at least two compliant rib structures coupled to the rigid spar. The compliant rib structures include an outer compliant contoured structure, a drive member coupled to the outer compliant contoured structure and including a guiding slot consisting of at least two interconnected portions. The guiding slot encompasses and is in a sliding arrangement with the rigid stopper. The drive member is further connected to the actuator. Portions of the outer compliant contoured structures are configured to independently deform when force is applied from the actuator to the drive member thereby moving the rigid stopper from a first portion to a second portion of the guiding slot. The fixed complaint wing system further includes a skin encompassing the compliant rib structures.

The EENIC includes an internal network interface controller (NIC), a field programmable array (FPGA) in electrical communication with the internal network interface controller, and a peripheral component interconnect express (PCIe) controller, in independent electrical communication with the field programmable array or the internal network interface controller. The FPGA is configured to intercept data from either the host, or from the network, or from a combination thereof. Additionally, the configured interception is undetected by the host, or by the network, or a combination thereof.

摘要: An integrated microgrid imaging polarimeter comprises a repeating pattern of wiregrid polarizers in a new 2×4 array that improves image resolution and quality by increasing the spatial bandwidth available for each Stokes image despite that the new repeating pattern is larger than prior art 2×2 arrays. An example embodiment has polarization orientations of the wiregrid polarizers in each 2×4 array, beginning from an arbitrary top left polarizer of each array and continuing clockwise, as: 45 degrees; zero degrees; 315 degrees; 90 degrees; zero degrees; 45 degrees; 90 degrees; and, 315 degrees. The disclosure includes an analysis showing development of the new 2×4 array and supporting its improved performance over prior art 2×2 arrays.
