Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, receiving a plurality of live video streams from a plurality of communication devices, the plurality of live video streams being associated with a common event. Further aspects may include aggregating the plurality of live video streams to generate a composite video stream for presenting a selectable viewing of the common event and providing the composite video stream to a device for presentation. Additional aspects may include adjusting the composite video stream according to user generated-input to generate an adjusted composite video stream, the user-generated input corresponds to a request to adjust the presentation of the common event. Other aspects may include providing the adjusted composite video stream to the device for presentation. Other embodiments are disclosed.

A method includes receiving media content at a media server and encoding the media content to form a first content stream. The method includes encoding an audio portion of the media content to form a second content stream having a first bit rate. The method includes causing the first content stream to be transmitted to a media device via a satellite distribution system and causing the second content stream to be concurrently transmitted to the media device via a terrestrial distribution system. The method includes receiving an indication of a disruption of the first content stream at the media device. The method also includes, after receiving the indication, causing a third content stream to be transmitted from the media server to the media device via the terrestrial distribution system. The third stream has a second bit rate greater than the first bit rate.

A system that incorporates the subject disclosure may include, for example, a device to perform operations including determining a target playback latency not less than a greater of a first playback latency of a streaming media signal at a first media processor and a second playback latency of the first media signal at a second media processor. The streaming media signal includes a first in-content reference. A coordinated playback time is determined according to the target playback latency. A buffer, when adjusted by a buffer value, causes the first in-content reference to be encountered at a coordinated time during playback by the first media processor, which results in a synchronized playback of the streaming media between the first and second media processors.
