    摘要: The present invention provides a process for more efficiently producing an α-hydroxycarboxylic acid ester wherein side reactions due to the α-hydroxycarboxylic acid ester are inhibited or prevented in comparison with prior art production processes.The invention provides a process for producing an α-hydroxycarboxylic acid ester comprising Steps 1 to 3:Step 1. reacting, in the presence of oxygen, (i) a 1,2-diol with a 1,2-diol or (ii) a 1,2-diol with an alcohol to obtain a reaction product containing an α-hydroxycarboxylic acid ester;Step 2. separating the α-hydroxycarboxylic acid ester from the reaction product obtained in Step 1 by distillation under reduced pressure; andStep 3. feeding Step 1 with a mixture obtained by partially or entirely removing water from the reaction product, wherein the mixture contains an unreacted 1,2-diol and/or alcohol.

    摘要: A bearing support device includes a rotor, a bearing member, and a bearing holding member. The rotor rotates about a rotation center axis. The bearing member rotatably supports the rotor within a bearing hole passing through the bearing member. The bearing holding member holds the bearing member in a secure manner within a fitting hole that passes through the bearing holding member along the center axis of the rotor via an engagement force produced by tightly fitting the bearing member. The rotor and bearing member are made of a resin. An engagement section is provided for tightly fitting the bearing member into the fitting hole relative to the bearing hole to enable an engagement force produced by the tight fitting to act in a direction that does not affect an inner diameter dimension of the bearing hole.

C. Polyamino acid particles having a high molecular weight and a small bulk specific gravity can be manufactured very easily without requiring specific procedures. The polyamino acid particles can be used as a coating material for papers, resins, rubbers, and fibers; particles for cosmetics; particles for diagnostic drugs; fillers for chromatography; and an encapsulating material for drugs, fertilizers, and perfumes.

    摘要: Solid poly-.alpha.-amino acid particles are obtained by preparing an oil-in-water emulsion from water and an organic solvent having a water solubility of 10 g/100 ml or less, and polymerizing an .alpha.-amino acid-N-carboxy anhydride by emulsion polymerization in the oil-in-water emulsion, or by polymerizing an .alpha.-amino acid-N-carboxy anhydride in water in the presence of an emulsifier and an initiator. Hollow particles can be obtained by adding a poor solvent for the poly-.alpha.-amino acid to the poly-.alpha.-amino acid particles and removing the solvents. These poly-.alpha.-amino acid particles are useful as a novel raw materials for coating on papers, rubbers and fibers, for encapsulating cosmetics, drugs, agricultural chemicals and fertilizers, and as particles for diagnostic reagents.
