    Abstract: An aqueous dispersion comprising at least one copolymer, the copolymer being preparable by initially charging an aqueous dispersion of at least one polyurethane, and then polymerizing a mixture of olefinically unsaturated monomers in the presence of the polyurethane, where a water-soluble initiator is used, the metered addition of the olefinically unsaturated monomers is effected in such a way that a concentration of 6.0% by weight, based on the total amount of olefinically unsaturated monomers, in the reaction solution is not exceeded over the entire duration of the reaction, and the mixture of the olefinically unsaturated monomers comprises at least one polyolefinically unsaturated monomer. The invention further relates to the use of the aqueous dispersion for production of coating materials, to a process for producing the aqueous dispersion, to a basecoat comprising the aqueous dispersion, and to the use of the basecoat for coating of automobile bodies and/or parts for installation on automobile bodies.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a reaction product preparable by reacting (a) dimer fatty acids with (b) at least one compound (b) of the general structural formula (I) where R is a C3 to C6 alkylene radical and n correspondingly is selected such that the compound (b) possesses a number-average molecular weight of 120 to 445 g/mol, components (a) and (b) are used in a molar ratio of 0.7/2.3 to 1.6/1.7, and the resulting reaction product possesses a number-average molecular weight of 600 to 4000 g/mol and an acid number of less than 10 mg KOH/g. The invention further relates to a pigmented aqueous basecoat material which comprises this reaction product, and to the use of the reaction product in pigmented aqueous basecoat materials for improving adhesion. The present invention further relates to a method for producing multicoat paint systems, and also to the multicoat paint systems producible by means of said method.

    Abstract: Disclosed herein is a computer-implemented method for training a data-driven model for predicting properties of a chemical mixture. The method includes the steps of obtaining data including history and/or calibration data of a plurality of chemical mixture recipes and properties of each chemical mixture recipe, with each chemical mixture recipe including two or more ingredients, assigning at least one ingredient in each chemical mixture recipe to one of pre-defined substance clusters, each pre-defined substance cluster representing one ingredient or a group of ingredients having similar chemistry, revising each chemical mixture recipe by replacing the at least one ingredient with the assigned pre-defined substance cluster, and providing the revised chemical mixture recipes, together with the properties of the chemical mixture recipes, to a machine learning process in order to train a data-driven model, which is usable for predicting characteristics of properties of a new chemical mixture.
