    摘要: A camera comprises an imaging system having a first depth of field for one or more first colours and a second depth of field, smaller than the first depth of field, for one or more second colours. The imaging system may comprise an iris with a first aperture for the first colour or colours and a second aperture, which is larger than the first, for the second colour or colours. The first aperture may be defined by an outer opaque ring (1) and the second by an inner chromatic ring (2). The inner ring (2) blocks the first colour(s) and passes the second colour(s). The image formed of the first colour(s) is sharper and its sharpness may be transposed by image processing to the other images.

    摘要: A camera including an imaging system having a first depth of field for one or more first frequencies of optical radiation and a second depth of field, smaller than the first depth of field, for one or more second frequencies of optical radiation. The imaging system includes an iris having a first aperture for the first frequency(ies) of optical radiation and a second aperture, larger than the first aperture, for the second frequency(ies) of optical radiation. The first aperture is defined by an outer opaque ring and the second aperture is defined by an inner chromatic ring. The inner chromatic ring blocks the first frequency(ies) and passes the second frequency(ies) such that the image formed by the first frequency(ies) is sharper than the image formed by the second frequency(ies), and that sharpness may be transposed to other images by known image processing techniques.

    摘要: An imaging system according to the invention includes: a matrix of light modulating elements including first and second elements for respectively transmitting first and second image components; a polarizing element having a first polarization axis for linearly polarizing light from the first and second elements; a first optical retardation element incorporating at least one first retarder having first and second regions respectively having a first optic axis at a first orientation and a second option axis at a second orientation to the first polarization axis; and a detecting element having first and second detecting parts, each detecting part including respective second optical retardation element incorporating at least one second retarder and an analyzing element having a second polarization axis intended to be disposed at a defined orientation relative to the first polarization axis, at least one second retarder of the first detecting part having an optic axis which is intended to be disposed substantially perpendicularly to the first optic axis and transversely to the second optic axis of the at least one first retarder, and at least one second retarder of the second detecting part having an optic axis which is intended to be disposed substantially perpendicularly to the second optic axis and transversely to the first optic axis of the at least one first retarder.     摘要: An addressable matrix display comprises an addressable matrix of pixels, a first set of electrode tracks on one side of the matrix and a second set of electrode tracks on the other side of the matrix. The sets of electrode tracks cross one another at the locations of the pixels, and the pixels are switchable by the application of respective switching waveforms to the electrode tracks. Furthermore at least one of the electrode tracks has a resistance which varies along the length of the electrode track in order to provide increased temperature uniformity over the display due to power dissipation during switching by the switching waveforms applied to the electrode tracks. More particularly the resistance in an intermediate section of the electrode track is greater than the resistance in two end sections of the electrode track.

    摘要: A display device is provided, including a signal transmission mechanism that makes it possible to reduce the number of pins on an FPC board connected to a TFT substrate or eliminate the necessity for the FPC board, and that can be readily applied to a compact device.The present liquid crystal display device includes light detectors, a receiver circuit, a display control circuit, a video signal line drive circuit, a scanning signal line drive circuit, and a display portion, which are formed on a TFT substrate of a liquid crystal display panel, and it also includes white LEDs, and an LED drive circuit, which are included in a backlight portion. The LED drive circuit drives the white LEDs, each emitting a light (modulation) signal LS in accordance with an externally-provided video signal VS. The receiver circuit generates (demodulates) the video signal VS based on a signal received via the light detector. Such an optical transmission mechanism makes it possible to reduce the number of pins on the FPC board or eliminate the FPC board.

The method includes: forming an electrical circuit, electrically connected to the first substrate; integrating a MEMS device on a first substrate region, electrically connected to the first substrate; providing a second substrate overlying the first substrate; and, forming a wall along the first region boundaries, between the first and second substrate. In one aspect, the electrical circuit is formed using thin-film processes; and, wherein integrating the MEMS device on the first substrate region includes forming the MEMS using thin-film processes, simultaneous with the formation of the electrical device. Alternately, the MEMS device is formed in a separate process, attached to the first substrate, and electrical interconnections are formed to the first substrate using thin-film processes.
