Abstract:
A catalyst composition for the preparation of oligomeric and/or polymer derivatives of olefin monomers, said composition comprising a Group 6 metal amide complex, a Group 1, 2, 12, 13, or 14 metal hydrocarbyl composition or compound, and a solid support comprising aluminum phosphate.
Abstract:
A system and method for a call receiving pager apparatus, system and method utilizing a dedicated switch for providing proprietary access, billing functions and other enhanced features is described. The system utilizes a subscriber apparatus having pager or radiotelephone functions whereby a caller may call the apparatus and gain direct two-way communication with the subscriber. The caller is billed for the communication. A call receiving pager apparatus, system and method which enables two-way text messaging as well as the storage, retrieval, and recall of telephone numbers making calls to the pager apparatus where the recalls are made by way of sending a data package to the stored caller number is described. The subscriber is unable to initiate any real time two-way communication with the outgoing connection.
Abstract:
Disclosed are dental varnishes comprising reaction products of rosins with polyalcohols dissolved in mixtures of C2-C4 alcohols with C5-C7 hydrocarbons which have been found effective in preventing tooth decay and alleviating tooth sensitivity. Such varnishes may, optionally, incorporate therapeutic, antimicrobial and sensory enhancing ingredients.
Abstract:
Insulating oil in electric power generation, transmission and distribution equipment such as circuit breakers, regulators, phase shifters, tank diverter switches and capacitor banks for respectively separated phases of a plural phase transmission or distribution line is filtered for removal of accumulated water, carbon particles and other contaminants by filters in oil circuits respective to each phase in the plurality. Each oil circuit respective to each circuit breaker includes a respective filter and circulation pump. However, all pumps in the plural phase power system, for example, are driven by the same motor and drive line whereby a fluid condition or circulation interruption of one oil circuit that requires termination of pump operation in the one oil circuit terminates the pump operation in all oil circuits. Pump motor power is preferably drawn from an energy source that may be independent of that served by the transmission and/or distribution power source.
Abstract:
A system and method for reducing undesirable components in optical signals in an optical transmission network. A block coding scheme is implemented that is matched to the spectral characteristics of one or more optical components of a transmission path, e.g., filters, optical media, et cetera, whereby the source data is encoded for shifting the power density spectra of the optical signals.
Abstract:
An optical time domain reflectometer has an acoustic-optic modulator (30) for generating three different wavelengths, optical multipliers 40, 42 for alternating between one of the wavelengths (.lambda..sub.1) and the other two wavelengths (.lambda..sub.1 +.DELTA..lambda., .lambda..sub.1 -.DELTA..lambda.) in response to a signal generator 44, enables the provision of a test signal for transmission on an optical fiber transmission cable.
Abstract:
A switching device is provided which permits connection of two incompatibly wired electrical components. The electrical signal from each lead on the first electrical component is isolated on a particular switch assembly and re-routed along a selected path to a desired terminal, which then feeds the signal to a particular lead on the second electrical component. Each switch assembly operates independently of the other switch levels, thereby permitting any combination of electrical routes or paths to be selected and accommodating a great variety of wiring designs.
Abstract:
A utility sled is formed from a lightweight material and includes a handle flexibly attached to the front end thereof. The handle includes a hook that is seated within a small opening of the utility sled when not in use. A pair of retractable wheels is attached to an exterior of each sidewall of the utility sled. The sidewalls are biased outward when no load is present. When loaded, the sidewalls advantageously tend to straighten vertically. The formed bottom of the sled includes a plurality of ribs which both add strength to the sled as well as function as sled runners when the wheels are retracted. The ribs operate to reduce friction between the sled bottom and the underlying surface.
Abstract:
The present invention is based, in part, upon the discovery of charged lipids that provide advantages when used in lipid particles for the in vivo delivery of a therapeutic agent. As such, described herein are compounds useful for delivering a nucleic acid to a cell.
Abstract:
A deflector for guiding a cooling fluid to a blade device of a turbine is provided. The deflector includes a first opening region with a first opening shape and a second opening region with a second opening shape. The deflector is connectable to a first blade device and to a second blade device in such a way that the cooling fluid is streamable through the first opening region into the first blade device and the cooling fluid is streamable through the second opening region into the second blade device. The first opening shape differs from the second opening shape for achieving a predetermined first mass flow of the cooling fluid into the first blade device and a predetermined second mass flow of the cooling fluid into the second blade device at predetermined installation locations of the first blade device and the second blade device.
