    摘要: In a magnetron sputtering apparatus an arrangement is made such that the peripheral portion of a target is uniformly eroded to attain a high efficiency in target utilization and, in addition, that an abnormal discharging hardly occurs to thereby enable satisfactory thin film forming. A magnet assembly is provided behind a target that is disposed opposite to the process substrate. This magnet assembly has a central magnet that is disposed linearly along the longitudinal direction, and a peripheral magnet that is disposed so as to enclose the periphery of the central magnet, while changing the polarity on the side of the target. At this time, among the respective magnetic fluxes generated between the central magnet and the peripheral magnet at the longitudinally end portions of the magnet assembly, the position at which the vertical component of the magnetic field becomes zero is locally shifted to the central magnet within a certain range.

    摘要: A plasma display includes first and second substrates provided opposing one another. A plurality of first electrodes is formed on a surface of the first substrate facing the second substrate. A first dielectric layer is formed covering the first electrodes. A plurality of main barrier ribs is formed on a surface of the second substrate facing the first substrate, the main barrier ribs defining a plurality of discharge cells. A plurality of electrode barrier ribs is formed on the second substrate between the main barrier ribs. Phosphor layers are formed within the discharge cells, and discharge gas included in the discharge cells, where the main barrier ribs are formed integrally to the second substrate, and a second electrode and a second dielectric layer are formed, in this order, on a distal end of each of the electrode barrier ribs. A method of manufacturing the plasma display includes the processes of integrally forming a plurality of main barrier ribs on a plasma display substrate, the main barrier ribs defining a plurality of discharge cells, forming electrode barrier ribs between the main barrier ribs, forming an electrode on a distal end of each of the electrode barrier ribs, and forming a dielectric layer on each of the electrodes.

    摘要: A sputtering apparatus includes a vacuum housing, a substrate holder disposed in the vacuum housing for holding a substrate thereon, and a composite sputtering cathode assembly disposed in the vacuum housing. The composite sputtering cathode assembly has a plurality of targets and a plurality of shields each disposed between adjacent ones of the targets. The targets are disposed in confronting relation to the substrate held on the substrate holder. Those sputtering particles expelled from the targets which are directed obliquely to the substrate hit the shields and do not reach the substrate. Only those sputtering particles which are directed substantially perpendicularly to the substrate are applied to the substrate. The distribution of film thicknesses on the substrate is made uniform when the substrate and the targets rotate relatively to each other.

    摘要: A powdery sample forming apparatus, which is used for measuring a water content of powder and in which all operations from powder supply to powder discharge are automated, includes a vertically elongated housing which has a sample inlet port at an upper portion thereof and a sample discharge port at a lower portion thereof. A porous plate or a screen plate divides the housing into longitudinal compartments and a gate opens and closes a bottom portion of one of the divided compartments. A vertically movable press member in the compartment having the gate presses the sample against the gate. A window is formed in a side wall of the compartment having the gate and can be cleaned with air under pressure or a vacuum.

    摘要: Disclosed is a novel polycarbonate which has(1) a repeating unit (I) represented by the general formula: ##STR1## and a repeating unit (II) represented by the formula: ##STR2## (all the symbols are as defined in the claims); (2) a trihalogenophenoxy group as the end group thereof; and (3) a viscosity average molecular weight of 10,000 to 50,000, and 1 to 10 mol % of the repeating unit (I) in the main chain.The polycarbonate is excellent in all of flame retardance, impact resistance, and a thermostability at molding. Accordingly, the polycarbonate of the present invention is extensively and effectively used as various industrial materials such as home electric appliances, office automation devices, construction materials and the like.

The polycarbonate resin composition has desirable physical properties including desirable mechanical properties, moldability, heat resistance, flame retardance, thermostability, rigidity, impact resistance, solvent resistance, and fluidity, and can be used to make parts for automobiles, home electric appliances, and office automation appliances.
