Abstract: A method and apparatus for monitoring an internet-of-things (IoT) battery device (IBD). An example IBD includes a radio transceiver to communicate with an IoT charging device (ICD), a battery, and a battery monitor to determine a state of charge (SoCh) for the battery. An alerter is included to send an alert message to the ICD, via the radio transceiver, to indicate that the SoCh is less than an alert threshold.

Abstract: The Internet can be configured to provide communications to a large number of Internet-of-Things (IoT) devices. Devices can be designed to address the need for network layers, from central servers, through gateways, down to edge devices, to grow unhindered, to discover and make accessible connected resources, and to support the ability to hide and compartmentalize connected resources. Network protocols can be part of the fabric supporting human accessible services that operate regardless of location, time, or space. Innovations can include service delivery and associated infrastructure, such as hardware and software. Services may be provided in accordance with specified Quality of Service (QoS) terms. The use of IoT devices and networks can be included in a heterogeneous network of connectivity including wired and wireless technologies.

Abstract: An accelerator includes a memory, a compute zone to receive an encrypted workload downloaded from a tenant application running in a virtual machine on a host computing system attached to the accelerator, and a processor subsystem to execute a cryptographic key exchange protocol with the tenant application to derive a session key for the compute zone and to program the session key into the compute zone. The compute zone is to decrypt the encrypted workload using the session key, receive an encrypted data stream from the tenant application, decrypt the encrypted data stream using the session key, and process the decrypted data stream by executing the workload to produce metadata.

Abstract: A split structure design for an internet of things (IoT) device including a control IoT device (CID) and a sensor IoT device (SID). An example of an apparatus provides a CID including a power transmitter to power a SID through a barrier and a control data transceiver to communicate with the SID through the barrier. The CID includes a power adjustor to increase a power transmission to the SID in steps, and an intermodule communicator to determine if communications have been established with the sensor IoT, and, if not, instruct the power adjustor to increase the power transmission to the SID by a step.

Abstract: Orchestration and/or management of services on deployed computing, electronic, appliance and like devices are described. A service orchestration and/or management system (“SOMS”) may be configured to provide for orchestration and/or management of services to one or more deployed devices. The SOMS may obtain information from deployed devices, such as status, capabilities and service metadata. The SOMS may then encapsulate and store the obtained information for later use. The SOMS may also store service information, facilitate creation of services based on stored service definition meta-data, modeling or simulating a service prior to deployment, and deployment of a service to remotely deployed devices followed by activation to begin operation of the service. Other embodiments may be described and claimed.

An IoT network apparatus includes permissions guide drafter for first and second discovered peers, parameter weight calculator, permissions guide term generator, and permissions guide action executor. An IoT network includes an IoT device with resource hardware component identifier, processor to process a received indication of an external module hardware requirement, an external module comparer, and deactivation signal transmitter.

Abstract: A system and related methods for powering a device module of IoT device with an energy harvesting module. A supercapacitor is charged by the energy harvesting module and discharged to the device module to power the device module. The discharge from the supercapacitor may be scheduled to power demanding tasks to provide sufficient recharging periods for the supercapacitor and avoid discharging the supercapacitor when the supercapacitor is insufficiently charged.
