Abstract: Apparatuses, computer readable media, and methods for uplink and downlink sounding for wireless networks are disclosed. An apparatus of a wireless device is disclosed. The apparatus comprising processing circuity configured to: encode a trigger frame for sounding (TF-S), the TF-S comprising an indication of whether a sounding is for uplink (UL) sounding or (DL) sounding, and the TF-S comprising an indication of stations to participate in the UL sounding or the DL sounding; and configure the wireless device to transmit the TF-S to the stations. The processing circuitry may be further configured to: if the sounding is for the DL sounding, encode a null data packet announcement (NDP-A), encode a null data packet (NDP), configure the wireless device to transmit the NDP-A, and configure the wireless device to transmit the NDP.

Abstract: This disclosure describes methods, devices, and systems related to generate a trigger frame including one or more resource block identifications (RBIDs), each RBID being associated with a respective resource unit of one or more resource units on a communication channel; cause to transmit the first trigger frame to each of one or more devices; process a received power save poll (PS-poll) bit from a first device of the one or more devices on a spatial stream and a first resource unit of the one or more resource units; cause to transmit an acknowledgment to each of the one or more user devices; cause to transmit data buffered in the at least one processor to the first device; and process a received acknowledgment from the first device confirming receipt of the data.

Abstract: Techniques for group-based spatial stream assignment signaling in 60 GHz wireless networks are described. According to various such techniques, a 60 GHz-capable transmitting device may be configured to define one or more DL MU-MIMO groups, each of which may comprise one or more respective 60 GHz-capable receiving devices. In various embodiments, the 60 GHz-capable transmitting device may include a DL MU-MIMO group ID within DL MU-MIMO control information in a PHY header of a PPDU in order to indicate that the PPDU is directed to a DL MU-MIMO group corresponding to that DL MU-MIMO group ID. In some embodiments, DL MU-MIMO control information may comprise information specifying spatial stream assignments for the 60 GHz-capable receiving devices of that DL MU-MIMO group. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

Abstract: Signaling techniques to support DL MU-MIMO in 60 GHz wireless networks are described. According to various such techniques, a transmitting 60 GHz-capable device may be configured to include DL MU-MIMO control information in a PHY header of a PPDU that comprises respective data for multiple receiving devices. In some embodiments, the DL MU-MIMO control information may include information identifying each such receiving device. In various embodiments, the DL MU-MIMO control information may include information specifying—for each such receiving device—one or more respective spatial streams that are assigned to that receiving device. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

Abstract: Computer readable media, methods, and apparatus for resource block identification (RBIDs) for neighbor station resource requests are disclosed. An apparatus of a station is disclosed. The apparatus may include a memory, and processing circuitry coupled to the memory. The processing circuitry may be configured to decode a neighbor report comprising one or more RBIDs from a first access point. Each RBID may indicate a frequency resource allocation to transmit one bit of information to a second access point. The processing circuitry may be further configured to respond to decoding a poll trigger from the second access point, by encoding a response to the poll trigger in accordance with the corresponding frequency resource allocation indicated by one of the one or more RBIDs. The processing circuitry may be further configured to configure the station to transmit the response to the second access point in accordance orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA).

Abstract: Apparatuses, computer readable media, and methods for restricting enhanced distributed coordination access (EDCA) in a high-efficiency wireless local-area network (HEW) are disclosed. The apparatus of a HEW station may include processing circuitry and transceiver circuitry. The processing circuitry and transceiver circuitry may be configured to configure the HEW station for operation in enhanced distributed coordinated access (EDCA) restricted mode, where in EDCA restricted mode the HEW station is configured to refrain from EDCA packet transmission. The processing circuitry and transceiver circuitry may be further configured to configure the HEW station for operation in non-EDCA restricted mode where in non-EDCA restricted mode the HEW station is configured to: increase a EDCA attempt failure counter when acknowledgement of an EDCA-transmitted packet is not received within a predetermined period of time, and enter EDCA restricted mode when the EDCA attempt failure counter equals a EDCA threshold.

Abstract: Embodiments of a high-efficiency Wi-Fi (HEW) station, access point (AP), and method for random access contention in a wireless network are generally described herein. In some embodiments, the HEW station may receive a beacon frame that indicates a number of trigger frames (TFs) included in a beacon interval. The beacon frame may be received from an HEW access point (AP) in channel resources that include multiple sub-channels. The HEW station may receive a random access TF that indicates a random access portion of the sub-channels that are allocated for random access contention during an uplink transmission period. The HEW station may select a candidate sub-channel from the channel resources. When the candidate sub-channel is included in the random access portion, the HEW station may transmit an association request (AR) frame on the candidate sub-channel during the uplink transmission period.

Abstract: Apparatuses, computer readable media, and methods for dynamic resource block identification for power save polling in a high efficiency wireless local-area network are disclosed. A wireless apparatus comprising a memory and processing circuitry is disclosed. The processing circuitry is configured to encode a packet comprising a plurality of bits one bit for each association identification (AID) of a plurality of AIDs. A bit is set if the wireless apparatus is to poll a station with a corresponding AID. Each set bit indicates a resource block identification. The processing circuitry is further configured to encode a power save (PS) poll trigger to be transmitted to the stations. The processing circuitry is further configured to decode responses to the PS poll trigger from the stations, where the responses are to be received from the stations in accordance with the corresponding resource block identification.

Abstract: Embodiments of a station (STA) and method for communication on primary and secondary channel resources are generally described herein. The STA may transmit a grant frame to indicate a transmission of a data payload by the STA during a grant period. The grant frame may indicate whether the data payload is to be transmitted on primary channel resources or on secondary channel resources. The STA may transmit the data payload to a destination STA on the secondary channel resources when the grant frame indicates that the data payload is to be transmitted on the secondary channel resources. The grant frame may be transmitted on the primary channel resources and on the secondary channel resources when the grant frame indicates that the data payload is to be transmitted on the secondary channel resources.
