摘要: A display ON sequence for preventing problems in a display at the starting time of a liquid crystal display device is prevented from having malfunctions, which might otherwise be caused in a scanning line drive circuit by applying a voltage to scanning signal lines. In the display ON sequence at the starting time of the liquid crystal display device of an active matrix type, all the scanning signal lines of a liquid crystal panel are brought into a selected state thereby to release the electric charges in the liquid crystal capacity and the auxiliary capacity in each pixel forming portion through data signal lines. After this, the scanning signal lines are stepwise brought into an unselected state by dividing them several times, before their sequential selections (or scans) for the display are started. Thus, the electric current to flow through the bulk of the scanning signal line drive circuit is made lower than that of the prior art, in which the scanning signal lines were simultaneously brought into the unselected state.

摘要: A liquid crystal display panel (LCD) 1 having a plurality of pixels arranged to show an image is provided. A plurality of drivers 3, 5, 7, 9 are provided and switched between a driving state and a non-driving state in response to an ON/OFF signal that is fed. The plurality of drivers 3, 5, 7, 9 drive the plurality of pixels of the liquid crystal display panel 1 on the basis of a display data signal and a synchronizing signal, including a vertical synchronizing signal VSYNC, so that an image responsive to the display data signal is shown on the liquid crystal display panel 1. Further, a signal generating section 3c is provided to generate, on the basis of the vertical synchronizing signal VSYNC and the ON/OFF signal that is fed, a new SON/OFF signal synchronized with the vertical synchronizing signal VSYNC, and feeds the new SON/OFF signal into the drivers 3, 5, 7, 9. The foregoing makes it possible to provide a display device and a method of controlling the display device, by which an ON/OFF state of a display shown on a screen is controlled to prevent the display from deteriorating in quality at the time when the display is switched ON/OFF.

摘要: An auxiliary capacitance electrode driving circuit outputs an auxiliary capacitance electrode driving signal alternating between high potential and low potential once every horizontal scanning period. A common electrode driving circuit drives a common electrode such that it also alternates between high potential and low potential once every horizontal scanning period. In an auxiliary capacitance potential setting circuit, the anode of a diode is connected to an auxiliary capacitance electrode driving signal line and the cathode of the diode is connected to a ground conductor. A node between the anode of the diode and the auxiliary capacitance electrode driving signal line is connected via a capacitor to the auxiliary capacitance electrode driving circuit. Thus, the auxiliary capacitance potential setting circuit functions as a clamping circuit for setting an upper limit of the potential of the auxiliary capacitance electrode.

摘要: The present invention relates to an air-conditioning and an environmental control device for manufacturing plants of integrated circuits, chemicals and foods, hospitals, etc. where clean air is required. In this environmental control device, controlled air blows out from one side and is absorbed into the other side of the room. The blowing surface and the absorbing surface are divided on the basis of the predetermined module. Ventilating units are formed in a suitable size to conform to the module. Because of the construction, the controlling system of temperature or cleanliness of the air in the environmental control room can be rearranged to an optional one by replacing or changing positions of the ventilating units. Even if a controlling system is rearranged to an optional one, the room should be divided into a supply chamber, a mixing chamber, an environmental control chamber and a return chamber from one side to the opposite side of the room, so that air conditioned can flow as required. Conditioned air enters the supply chamber, and air from the supply chamber and air from the return chamber are mixed in the mixing chamber. The mixed air passes through the ventilating units contained in the mixing chamber to be supplied into the environmental control chamber. The ventilating units have a fan and a high efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filter.

摘要: The stability of reception of information signals in a low-quality radio communication circuit is notably improved by a method and apparatus of diversity reception which, by means of the local oscillation frequencies of a plurality of receiving systems, permits one or more coherently interrelated received signals to be phase-locked in the phase-lock loops of the respective receiving systems and which, when any of the phase-lock loops has accidentally lost the phase-lock of the received signals, enables the lost phase-lock loop to resume normal phase-lock by borrowing and using, as its own local oscillation frequency, the local oscillation frequency of the phase-lock loop of one of the remaining receiving systems still locking the phases of the received signals.

摘要: A gradation conversion unit 23 performs, on an input image, gradation conversion in which a predetermined gain is applied to a gradation smaller than a boundary gradation CVth and a characteristic becomes a spline curve for a gradation larger than the boundary gradation. To determine a characteristic of the gradation conversion unit 23, an image analysis unit 22 obtains the boundary gradation CVth and a maximum gradation CVmax based on the input image, and determines a linear gain shift coefficient LGs so that the brightness decreasing rate of the maximum gradation CVmax when brightness control of a backlight 30 is performed becomes a limit value or less. In such a manner, power consumption of the backlight is reduced while suppressing deterioration in picture quality.
