The method may include making mobility information including visited cell history available based on at least received mobility state estimation configuration information; and reporting, by the user equipment, the mobility information including the visited cell history. Handover failure modes are identified by logging information associated with at least one of a handover failure or a radio link failure. The information identifies whether or not a user equipment was engaged in an exchange of at least one of data traffic or control traffic with a network at the time that the handover failure or radio link failure occurred. The information is stored in a non-transitory computer-readable medium, and the information is reported to the network. The information is reported using a radio link failure or connection failure information signaling message. The severity of the handover failure or radio link failure is evaluated based upon the information.

In accordance with an example embodiment of the present invention, a method comprising: receiving an indication of a timing difference over a wireless backhaul link, the indication received at a first node in a wireless communication system and received from a second node in the wireless communication system, the timing difference between a first time at which the second node received uplink signal on the wireless backhaul link from the first node and a second time at which the second node transmitted downlink signal on the wireless backhaul link to the first node; determining by the first node a new timing advance based on a current timing advance and on the received timing difference; and using the determined new timing advance for one or more transmissions by the first node over one or more wireless links.

Various communication systems may benefit from appropriate representations of communication parameters and information. For example, certain wireless communication systems may benefit from packet number representation for multicast channel block error rate reporting. A method can include determining a number of packets corresponding to a block error rate of a multicast channel. The method can also include encoding the number of packets using an encoding format that includes a plurality of granularities and at least one threshold. The method can further include transmitting the number of packets in a report.
