A major challenge in the concentration of EPA and particularly DHA by molecular distillation, is the accumulation of monoglycerides in the product. The present invention offers a solution to completely remove the monoglycerides from the ethyl ester products.

    摘要: Novel compositions containing conjugated linoleic acids are efficacious as animal feed additives and human dietary supplements. Linoleic acid is converted to its conjugated forms in which the resulting composition is low in certain unusual isomers compared to conventional conjugated linoleic products. In addition, the inventions provides compositions that are prepared according to a novel method that controls oxidation of CLA into volatile organic compounds as well as containing metal oxidant chelators to control oxidation during storage.

    摘要: The present invention relates to the field of human and animal nutrition, and in particular to certain novel compositions of conjugated linoleic acids (CLA). In particular, the present invention relates certain isomers of conjugated linoleic acids at either the SN1 and SN3 or SN2 positions of the acylglyceride molecule and another fatty acyl residue at the other of the SN1 and SN3 or SN2 positions of the acylglyceride molecule. These novel acylglyceride compositions containing conjugated linoleic acyl residues, medium chain fatty acyl residues, long chain fatty acyl residues, and ω3, ω6, and ω9 fatty acyl residues are efficacious as pharmaceutical compositions, animal feed additives, and human dietary supplements.

    摘要: Methods of producing concentrates of omega-3 fatty acid ethyl esters, from an ethyl ester composition comprising use of free fatty acids as co-catalysts for enzymatic synthesis of partial glycerides are provided. In some embodiments, methods of producing concentrates of ethyl-eicosapentanoate and/or ethyl-docosahexanoate from an ethyl ester composition containing the esters comprise a) adding glycerol, an immobilized enzyme catalyst, and a free fatty acid co-catalyst b) allow glyceryl ester synthesis to proceed by adjustment of temperatures, time and vacuum such that a substantial amount of partial glycerides is formed and c) separating an ethyl ester fraction enriched in ethyl eicosanoate and ethyl docosahexanoate from the glyceride mixture.

    摘要: The present invention relates the manufacture of conjugated linoleic acid, and in particular, to feeds and food products containing conjugated linoleic acid. Accordingly, processes for producing conjugated linoleic acid of high purity are disclosed. These processes utilize alcoholate catalysts and esters of sunflower oil, safflower oil, or corn oil as the source of linoleic acid. The esters of conjugated linoleic acid produced by the process can be used in animal feeds and in food products suitable for human consumption. Furthermore, the esters can be converted into free fatty acids or incorporated into triglycerides.
