摘要: A process is provided for making an inorganic-organic plastic having improved compression strength, elasticity, dimensional stability to heat and flame resistance wherein an organic polyisocyanate is reacted with an aqueous solution of an alkali metal silicate or aqueous silica sol in a mixture containing an organic amphiphilous compound having 1 to 9 carbon atoms, such as an alcohol. The product may be used as a constructional component of a building.

摘要: The instant invention is directed to aqueous dispersions or solutions of polyurethane ionomer characterized by(a) hydrophilic polyalkylene oxide polyether chains in the polyurethane having an ethylene oxide unit content of from 1.2 to 50% by weight based on the polyurethane solid content,(b) a content of from 5 to 250 milliequivalents of ionic groups incorporated in the polyurethane per 100 grams of polyurethane solids content, and(c) from 0.5 to 100% by weight of water soluble electrolytes dissolved in water, based on the polyurethane solids content.

摘要: Aromatic polyisocyanates containing sulphonic acid or sulphonate groups which are substantially free from crystalline product and a method for making them are provided wherein a mixture of aromatic polyisocyanates having an isocyanato content of from about 10% to about 42% by weight is sulphonated, the improvement which comprises mixing and reacting liquid aromatic polyisocyanates having a viscosity of from about 8 cP to about 49 cP at 25.degree. C. and containing at least 40% by weight of phosgenation products of an aniline-phosgenation condensate and at least about 20% by weight of 2,6-tolylene diisocyanate, 2,4'-diphenylmethane diisocyanate, 2,2'-diphenylmethane diisocyanate or a mixture thereof, based on the weight of said liquid aromatic polyisocyanates with a sulphonating agent in an amount equivalent to from about 0.1% to about 40% by weight sulphur trioxide, based on the weight of said liquid aromatic polyisocyanates.

摘要: Inorganic-organic compositions obtained from a mixture of compounds comprising:A. from 2-95% by weight of an aqueous alkali metal silicate solution; and containing about 20-70% by weight of said alkali metal silicate and,B. from 5-98% by weight of an organic nonionic hydrophilic polyisocyanate.A water-binding material such as hydraulic cement may be included in the reaction mixture. The products of the invention may be used in many forms including both porous and non-porous products as surface coatings having good adhesion and resistance to abrasion, as a mortar, and as a foam concrete for making molded products particularly in construction engineering and civil engineering as for building walls, igloos, road building and the like. Products are especially useful as lightweight thermal insulating materials with excellent mechanical properties and fire-resistance.

摘要: An inorganic-organic plastic having improved strength, elasticity, dimensional stability with increase in temperature and flame resistance and adapted for use in filling cracks and cavities and for making materials useful in the building industry is prepared by (1) premixing (c) an organic compound having at least one reactive hydrogen and at least one ionic group or at least one non-ionic hydrophilic group with (b) an aqueous silicate and then mixing the resulting mixture with (a) an organic polyisocyanate or (2) mixing (a), (b) and (c) simultaneously and reacting the mixture thus obtained to form a colloidal xerosol.

摘要: Glass fibers for reinforcing thermoplastic resins are sized with an aqueous dispersion comprising a polyurethane-ionomer as a film-forming agent and a bonding agent comprising an epoxy-containing alkoxysilane. Advantageously the polyurethane is a very small particle ionomer and the bonding agent is selected from the group consisting of(a) an epoxyalkyl alkoxysilane+an aminoalkyl alkoxysilane,(b) an epoxyalkyl alkoxysilane+a low-molecular weight aliphatic primary or secondary mono-amine,(c) an aminoalkyl alkoxysilane+a low-molecular weight monoepoxide, and(d) an epoxyalkyl alkoxysilane.

摘要: The instant invention is directed to a process for the production of inorganic-organic resins, by reaction of an organic polyisocyanate with aqueous basic solutions having an inorganic solid content of from 20 to 80% by weight in the presence of catalysts and optionally other additives, characterized in that the organic polyisocyanate and the aqueous basic solution are used in a proportion by weight of between 80:20 and 10:90 parts by weight and that organic ammonium compounds are used as catalysts.

摘要: The instant invention is directed to a novel process for the production of inorganic/organic plastic materials and the resultant products. The process generally comprises reacting an aqueous alkali metal silicate solution with a liquid organic polyisocyanate having a viscosity at 25.degree. C of at least about 400 cP. Preferably, the process is utilized to produce high quality, lightweight foams having excellent physical properties.

摘要: The instant invention relates to hydrophobic inorganic-organic lightweight foams produced from aqueous suspensions of finely divided water-insoluble inorganic materials and polyisocyanates. More particularly, the invention relates to a process for the production of highly filled, hydrophobic, lightweight polyurea foams comprising reacting(a) liquid, water insoluble polyisocyanates free from ionic groups, having viscosities of more than 200 cP at 25.degree. C. and having isocyanate functionalities of greater than 2.1, with(b) an aqueous suspension of inorganic filler, said suspension having a solids content of from 30 to 80 percent by weight and having a pH value of above 8, at least 50 percent by weight of the suspended fillers having a particle size of less than 50 microns,(c) in the presence of the foam stabilizer of the polyether/polysiloxane type and in the presence of a tertiary amine catalyst,The weight ratio of components (b) to component (a) being better 1:2 and 6:1.
