Abstract: A polymeric foam is described which can be obtained by extrusion of a composition comprising a) a polymer blend of polystyrene, polyphenylene oxide and/or polyphenyl ether, b) at least one blowing agent, and c) at least one nucleating agent, as well as the use thereof for the filling of hollow bodies, in particular in the form of a window or door profile, with foam. The invention also relates to foam-filled hollow bodies, extrudates, and a method for producing the polymeric foam.
