Methods and apparatuses are provided for providing a Control User Interface (CUI) by a terminal. A location of the terminal is identified. The CUI, including information corresponding to the location of the terminal, is displayed. A command for controlling a device is generated based on the displayed CUI. The command is transmitted to the device or to a server connected to the device. The information corresponding to the location of the terminal is received from the device or from the server.

Disclosed is a method of controlling a screen display of an external display device by a mobile terminal, including when a connection between the mobile terminal and the external display device is performed, transmitting image data to the external display device and displaying an image displayed in the mobile terminal in the external display device, and when a selection command for one of objects included in the image data is input in the mobile terminal, moving a position of the image displayed in the external display device and then controlling such that the image is displayed together with an image of the object for the selection command.

A method of executing, by a terminal, an application that is provided from an application server. The method includes operations of receiving, from the application server, execution environment information about the application; determining whether to execute a virtual application, by referring to the execution environment information; displaying an interface so as to request a virtualization server that performs application virtualization for virtualization, based on a result of the determining; and requesting the virtualization server for virtualization of the application, based on a user input via the interface.

A method for managing in an Energy Management System (EMS) includes receiving, from a mobile terminal, a user command for at least one target smart appliance controlled by the EMS, determining, upon receiving the user command, determining whether the at least one target smart appliance includes at least one power-controlled smart appliance, wherein each power-controlled smart appliance operates in a power control mode, generating, upon a determination that there is at least one power-controlled target smart appliance, a notice message for informing the mobile terminal that the at least one power-controlled target smart appliance operates in the power control mode, and sending the notice message to the mobile terminal, and determining, upon receiving a response message to the sent notice message, whether to continue the power control mode of the at least one power-controlled smart appliance according to selection information included in the response message.

Methods and systems are provided for network setting. The network setting method includes determining, by a first router, whether the first router belongs to a top segment of a plurality of segments; generating, by the first router, a multicast packet for integrating the plurality of segments into a single segment, if the first router belongs to the top segment; and transmitting, by the first router, the multicast packet to at least one additional router included in the plurality of segments.
