Abstract: In various embodiments, a method for page cache management is described. The method can include: identifying a storage device fault associated with a fault-resilient storage device; determining that a first region associated with the fault-resilient storage device comprises an inaccessible space and that a second region associated with the fault-resilient storage device comprises an accessible space; identifying a read command at the second storage device for the data and determine, based on the read command, first data requested by a read operation from a local memory of the second storage device; determining, based on the read command, second data requested by the read operation from the second region; retrieving the second data from the second region; and scheduling a transmission of the second data from the fault-resilient storage device to the second storage device.

Abstract: A method may include operating a first storage device and a second storage device as a redundant array configured to use parity information to recover information from a faulty storage device, operating the first storage device in a fault resilient mode with at least partial read capability based on a fault condition of the first storage device, and rebuilding information from the first storage device in a parity space of the second storage device. Rebuilding the information from the first storage device in the parity space of the second storage device may include copying the information from the first storage device to the parity space of the second storage device. The method may further include copying the rebuilt information from the parity space of the second storage device to a replacement storage device.

Abstract: A persistent memory device is disclosed. The persistent memory device may include a cache coherent interconnect interface. The persistent memory device may include a volatile storage and a non-volatile storage. The volatile storage may include at least a first area and a second area. A backup power source may be configured to provide backup power selectively to the second area of the volatile storage. A controller may control the volatile storage and the non-volatile storage. The persistent memory device may use the backup power source while transferring a data from the second area of the volatile storage to the non-volatile storage based at least in part on a loss of a primary power for the persistent memory device.

Abstract: A storage device may include a storage medium, a storage device controller coupled to the storage medium, a host interface coupled to the storage device controller, and an attachable module interface configured to connect an attachable compute module to the storage device controller. The attachable module interface may include a data interface, a side-band interface, and/or a power interface. The attachable module interface may include a connector configured to connect the attachable compute module to the storage device controller. The storage device may include an enclosure having an opening configured to enable the attachable compute module to be connected to the attachable module interface through the opening. The storage device controller may be configured to utilize one or more resources of the attachable compute module. The storage device controller may be configured to communicate with the attachable compute module through one or more command extensions of a storage protocol.

Abstract: A method may include receiving, at a storage device, a command for a data transfer between the storage device and a host, determining a specified data rate for the data transfer, and performing the data transfer between the storage device and the host based on the command, wherein the storage device may control the data transfer based on the specified data rate. The data transfer may include a peak portion and an idle portion. The method may further include controlling, at the storage device, a peak portion and an idle portion of the data transfer based on the specified data rate. The method may further include controlling, at the storage device, the data transfer based on a peak burst size. The specified data rate may be received from the host and/or determined by the storage device by monitoring one or more parameters of a data transfer.
