    Abstract: An operating device includes: right and left hold sections to be held by a user, the right and left hold sections provided with first operating members; and a central section interconnecting the right and left hold sections. The operating device has a second operating member forming an upper surface of the central section. The second operating member includes a touch sensor located between the first operating members of the right and left hold sections, and is so supported as to be capable of vertical movement in response to a user s pressing-down operation. The second operating member is plate-like in shape, so that user s fingers can easily reach the second operating member in a condition where the user is holding the hold sections. As a result, operability of the operating device can be enhanced.

    Abstract: Provided is an information processing system capable of controlling a user s own name disclosed to other user in accordance with the relationship with the other user. A user management server stores, for each of a plurality of users, an identification name adapted to identify the user in association with a restricted disclosure name registered by the user and information identifying a user entitled to disclosure to whom the disclosure of the restricted disclosure name is permitted. The user management server receives a request for acquisition of name information of a requested user including information identifying a requesting user from a client device.     Abstract: A communication section receives a connection request from a game controller to connect the game controller with an information processing apparatus. A registered user information holding section holds biometric information of a user registered in the information processing apparatus. A biometric authentication portion compares biometric information of a user included in a taken image with biometric information held in the registered user information holding section to determine whether the imaged user is a user registered in the information processing apparatus. After the imaged user is found to be a user registered in the information processing apparatus, a login controller executes login processing of the user, or to be more specific, stores information for identifying a device included in the taken image and information for identifying the user into a login user storage portion by relating these items of information with each other.

    Abstract: An image generation unit generates image data to be displayed on an outputting apparatus. An acceptance unit accepts operation information of inputting units provided in an inputting apparatus. A sharing processing unit carries out, when the acceptance unit accepts operation information of particular one of the inputting units provided in the inputting apparatus, a process of sharing the image data generated by the image generation unit or information relating to the image data.
