摘要: A resonant optical device has a rod-like resonator made of a fiber-reinforced resin for resonant vibration. A reflecting mirror is supported on the leading edge of the resonator. A drive unit oscillates the resonator in a circumferential direction. The base edge of the resonator is anchored to a stationary platform. The reflecting mirror is oscillated by a torsional oscillation produced by oscillation from the drive unit so as to scan light incident on the reflecting mirror. The resonator satisfies the expression G/.rho..gtoreq.12.times.10.sup.6 Pa.multidot.kg.sup.-1 .multidot.m.sup.3, where the horizontal elastic modulus of the resonator is designated G, and the density is designated .rho.. The resonator also satisfies the expression .tau./G.gtoreq.0.01, where the torsional stress tolerance is designated .tau.. In one embodiment, the fiber-reinforced resin is a carbon fiber-reinforced resin.

摘要: An information display device provided with a prism having at least two reflecting surfaces arranged in facing each other and a hologram surface formed of a reflection-type hologram. And at least one of the two reflecting surfaces is a light-beam-selective surface that selectively transmits or reflects light in accordance with its incident angle. An image light emitted from an image display means enters the prism, and is reflected between the reflecting surfaces, and then is diffractively reflected on the hologram surface, and, after being transmitted through the light-beam-selective surface, is directed to an observer's pupil.

摘要: A video reproducing apparatus which prevents a degradation in the picture quality by utilizing difference codes which have been added as additional information in coding process based DCT coding. Each of the taken-in codes has its header analyzed by a header analyzer 11, is decoded in a decoder 12, inverse-quantized in an inverse quantizer 13, and inverse-DCTed in an IDCT stage 14, thus yielding expanded pictures. If additional information has been added, the information is read by an additional information reader 21, the read difference codes contained in the extra information are expanded by an additional information decoder 22. The expanded difference code and video data from the IDCT stage 14 are synthesized by a video synthesizer 23 to yield high definition video data.

摘要: The invention provides an image data communication system of a simple construction wherein wasteful processing is eliminated so that desired image data can be transmitted rapidly to a terminal of a source of a request for the image data. A server and a plurality of terminals are interconnected so as to allow communication of image data. A terminal information retrieval section provided in the server discriminates whether or not image data requested from a first terminal have already been transmitted to a second terminal. An image data transfer section provided in the server requests, when a result of the discrimination is that the data have been transmitted already, the second terminal for transmission of the image data and transfers the image data received from the second terminal to the first terminal. A terminal memory provided in each terminal stores image data, and an image data transmission section provided in each terminal reads out image data requested from the server from the terminal memory and transmits the read out image data to the server.

摘要: A motion picture reproducing system by bidirectional communication, in which characters and graphics are separately encoded to reproduce high quality images. A video server transmits the motion picture codes of the desired video to a terminal in response to a request of the terminal. At that time, by checking a terminal registration information file, it is discriminated whether or not a bit map of the characters and the graphics stored in the user region of the motion picture codes is registered in the terminal. When the bit map is not registered in the terminal, the bit map data are transmitted to the terminal by a bit map encoder. The terminal reads out bit map codes stored in the user region of the motion picture codes and reproduces the bit map date in a bit map decoder. An optimum encoding can be carried out and a code size can be further compressed.

摘要: In video/audio compression, a video signal is separated into luminance and a color difference. The color difference is partially subsampled. An interframe difference is compression-coded by an encoding unit. At that time, particular subsampling information corresponding to a designated reproducing rate is extracted from subsampling information. The particular subsampling information is inserted into compressed video data. On the other hand, in video/audio reproduction, the color difference of the video, which has partially been subsampled, are interpolated by a decoding unit with reference to the subsampling information inserted into the compressed video data.

摘要: In a device which is supplied with a compression coded signal given by subjecting an original video signal to differential coding and which includes a converting section (10, 8, 7, 6) for carrying out a converting operation of converting the compression coded signal into a DCT coded signal identical with a coded signal given by subjecting the original video signal to DCT coding, a timer (3) measures a total time interval as a measured time interval until a reproducing unit (20) finishes reproducing from the DCT coded signal a leading frame of the original video signal from a time instant at which the converting section starts the converting operation. A subsampling information producing circuit (13) produces optimum subsampling information with reference to the measured time interval to make the converting section carry out an optimum subsampled converting operation of converting remaining frames of the compression coded signal into the DCT coded signal in accordance with the optimum subsampling information. Preferably, the subsampling information producing circuit compares the measured time interval with a predetermined time interval and produces, when the measured time interval is greater than the predetermined time interval, first subsampling information as the optimum subsampling information to make the converting section carry out a simplified subsampled converting operation as the optimum subsampled converting operation in accordance with the first subsampling information.

摘要: An aqueous pigment ink composition for writing utensils is provided, which is capable of providing handwritings with good opacifying properties and exhibits little difference in whiteness between handwritings obtained immediately after writing and after drying. When the composition is applied to the inner stick type of writing utensils, an ink having good opacifying properties is passed out. The ink composition comprises, at least, an emulsion of styrene resin-based doughnut-shaped flat particles as a white opacifying agent.
