摘要: A coupling element of a sensor of an ultrasonic, flow measuring device, which includes at least three rods having, in each case, a first rod end and a second rod end. The rods, in each case, have, on their respective first ends, first end faces, which, in each case, can be acoustically coupled with the sound-emitting and/or sound-receiving area of an ultrasonic transducer element. The respective first end faces of the rods together form a first coupling surface of the coupling element, and the rods, in each case, have, on their respective second ends, second end faces, which form a second coupling surface of the coupling element, wherein the rods, in each case, have a first rod cross section, which is different in shape and/or size from a respective second rod cross section.

摘要: An apparatus for ascertaining and/or monitoring volume- and/or mass-flow of a measured medium flowing in a flow direction through a measuring tube of predetermined inner diameter. The apparatus includes a plurality of ultrasonic sensors, which transmit and/or receive ultrasonic measuring signals along different, defined measuring paths, and a control/evaluation unit, which ascertains volume- and/or mass-flow of the measured medium in a pipeline/in the measuring tube on the basis of the ultrasonic measuring signals according to a sound entrainment method or the echo principle. At least two ultrasonic sensors, which transmit and/or receive the ultrasonic measuring signals on different measuring paths, are positioned in an opening located in the wall of the measuring tube.

摘要: A perpendicular magnetic recording media is provided having an imbalanced magnetic moment multilayer cap. The perpendicular magnetic recording media comprises a granular layer, and a multilayer cap structure exchange coupled to the granular layer. The multilayer cap structure includes upper and lower magnetic layers separated by a non-magnetic layer, where the upper magnetic layer has a magnetic moment greater than the lower magnetic layer. When an external field is applied to the recording media, a larger moment torque is triggered at the surface, and more efficient switching is facilitated. The upper magnetic layer may have a higher magnetic moment than the lower magnetic layer if the upper magnetic layer comprises a larger magnetic moment material than the lower magnetic layer. The upper magnetic layer may also have a higher magnetic moment than the lower magnetic layer if the upper magnetic layer has a greater thickness than the lower magnetic layer.

摘要: A perpendicular magnetic recording medium includes a metamagnetic antiferromagnetically-coupled (AFC) layer between the recording layer (RL) and the soft magnetically permeable underlayer (SUL). The metamagnetic AFC layer has essentially no net magnetic moment in the absence of a magnetic field, but is highly ferromagnetic in the presence of a magnetic field above a threshold field. Thus the metamagnetic AFC layer does not contribute to the readback signal during reading, but channels the write field to the SUL during writing because the threshold field is selected to be below the write field. An exchange-break layer EBL is located between the metamagnetic AFC layer and the RL. The metamagnetic AFC layer contains films with a crystalline structure suitable as a growth template for the EBL and RL, so the metamagnetic AFC layer also functions as part of an “effective EBL”, thereby allowing the actual EBL to be made as thin as possible.

摘要: A recording medium providing improved writeability in perpendicular recording applications includes a magnetic recording layer having an axis of magnetic anisotropy substantially perpendicular to the surface thereof, an exchange-spring layer ferromagnetically exchange coupled to the magnetic recording layer and having a coercivity less than the magnetic recording layer coercivity, and a coupling layer between the magnetic recording layer and the exchange-spring layer. The coupling layer regulates the ferromagnetic exchange coupling between the magnetic recording layer and the exchange-spring layer.

摘要: The invention generally relates to an optical switch which in particular, is able to present a high-resolution color display. The aim of the invention is to produce an optical switch which has a simpler design than known constructive solutions and has a high degree of luminous efficiency and low parallax. The optical switch should also be guaranteed to function at approx. 550° C. The inventive e.g., LCD-type optical switch is characterized in that at least one of the support plates consists of color-structured dichroic polarization glass which is impressed with dichroic color filters, in that the dichroic color filters are situated within an orthogonal matrix in color filter layers and in that the color filter layers of the support plate, starting form the surface of the support plate, extend into the same to a depth of a few &mgr;m. Once the glass support plates have been structured, the color patterns remain stable to approx. 550° C. As a result of using the color-structured dichroic polarization filter, the invention requires at least one less polarization filter than conventional LCD's and therefore has a simpler construction.
