A driving method of plasma display panels is disclosed. This method can suppress a dark belt occurring in displaying a video of a lower part of grayscale. One field includes plural sub-fields, and each one of the sub-fields has an addressing period during which a scan pulse is applied to the scan electrodes and a data pulse is applied to the data electrodes, and a sustaining period during which a sustain pulse is applied to the scan electrodes and the sustain electrodes. A time interval between a scan pulse applied lastly during the addressing period and a sustain pulse applied firstly during the sustaining period is defined as a last pulse-interval. The last pulse-interval of at least one sub-field of a lower part of grayscale, which lower part is darker than a predetermined level of the grayscale, is set longer than the last pulse-intervals of the other sub-fields.

A method of driving a panel and a plasma display unit is provided, wherein one field comprises a plurality of subfields, each having an addressing period for producing an address discharge selectively in any of discharge cells, and a sustaining period for producing a sustain discharge by applying a number of sustaining pulses corresponding to a weight of brightness in the discharge cell where the address discharge has been produced. Provided therein is a sustaining pulse generator circuit comprising a power recovery section for rising or falling the sustaining pulse by producing resonance between an inter-electrode capacitance of a display electrode pair and an inductor, and a clamping section for clamping a voltage of the sustaining pulse at a predetermined potential, wherein the power recovery section is used to set twice a time of rising the sustaining pulse to become equal to or longer than a duration of the sustaining pulse. The method and the plasma display unit realize a remarkable reduction of power consumption while achieving high brightness of the panel.

A piecing rovings operation is carried out for each pair of almost exhausted roving bobbins suspended by a front row bobbin hanger and a back row bobbin hanger of the creel, facing each other, together with two corresponding adjacent full packaged roving bobbins of the supply rail, respectively. A roving bobbin exchanging operation is carried out for each pair of almost exhausted roving bobbins having completed the roving piecing operation for corresponding full packaged roving bobbins of the supply rail having completed the roving piecing operation. The roving bobbin exchanging operation and the roving piecing operation are performed in parallel and at the same time.
