摘要: A vehicle driving control device is configured to improve response to driver braking operation and shorten the free running distance. The vehicle driving control device processes an image showing an area ahead of the host vehicle to recognize a preceding vehicle in the host vehicle lane, and then determines whether or not the preceding vehicle is making a sudden lateral movement based on this image processing result. If the vehicle driving control device determines that the preceding vehicle is making a sudden lateral movement, then a preliminary braking force is generated.

摘要: The clutch device includes, a right pressure flange that brings clutch discs provided on a clutch outer and clutch plates provided on a clutch inner into pressure contact with one another. A pressure ring that moves the right pressure flange with an external force and a clutch spring transmits the force toward a clutch connected position, from the pressure ring to the right pressure flange. Further, a return spring between the clutch inner and the right pressure flange urges the right pressure flange toward a clutch disconnected position. The clutch spring and the return spring are disposed parallel to a clutch axial direction, their respective positions overlapping each other in the clutch axial direction.

摘要: A vehicle headway maintenance assist system is provided that provides a haptic notification to an accelerator to alert the driver under prescribed conditions. The system changes a drive force/accelerator actuation relationship between an accelerator actuation amount and a target drive force or torque under the prescribed conditions. In particular, system changes a first drive force/accelerator actuation relationship to a second drive force/accelerator actuation relationship based on a vehicle running condition that was detected so that the driver more readily notices the haptic notification (e.g., an accelerator actuation reaction force) when the haptic notification is being applied to the accelerator to alert the driver under the prescribed conditions.

摘要: A reaction force imparting system of a vehicle accelerator pedal includes a running circumstance detection apparatus that detects two or more running circumstances; a reaction force generation apparatus; and a reaction force correction apparatus. Depending on the running circumstance, the reaction force generation apparatus generates reaction force for an accelerator pedal in a returning direction thereof based on a predetermined reaction force target value, wherein the reaction force target value is differentiated according to each of the running circumstances. The reaction force correction apparatus makes correction to reduce the reaction force currently generated by the reaction force generation apparatus in a case where it is predicted that the reaction force target value is increased by a change of the running circumstance, and a difference between the reaction force target value corresponding to the running circumstance after the change and the currently generated reaction force is less than a predetermined difference.

摘要: A method is provided for controlling a vehicle while operating under a cruise control so as to improve response to driver braking operation and shorten the free running distance by applying a preliminary braking force to a braking device when a preceding vehicle can no longer be recognized during preceding vehicle following control. Basically, the method includes: detecting a preceding vehicle and an inter-vehicle distance to the preceding vehicle from a host vehicle equipped with the vehicle driving control device; executing a preceding vehicle following control to control the inter-vehicle distance to the preceding vehicle towards a target inter-vehicle distance when the preceding vehicle has been recognized; and generating a preliminary braking force upon determination that no preceding vehicle can be recognized during the preceding vehicle following control performed in which the preceding vehicle was previously detected.

摘要: In adaptive cruise speed controlling apparatus and method for an automotive vehicle, a target vehicular velocity is set in such a way that an addition value of a difference between a target inter-vehicle distance from the vehicle to a preceding vehicle, the preceding vehicle running ahead of the vehicle on the same traffic lane, and an actual inter-vehicle distance thereof multiplied by a first gain and a relative velocity between the vehicle and the preceding vehicle multiplied by a second gain is included in the set vehicular velocity and the first and second gains are set to control a vehicular driving force to make the inter-vehicle distance substantially equal to the target inter-vehicle distance and to converge the inter-vehicle distance into the target inter-vehicle distance within a predetermined small overshoot crossing the target inter-vehicle distance when a size of an external form of the preceding vehicle is larger than a predetermined size.
