    Abstract: An off-road utility vehicle comprising a prime mover and a continuously variable transmission, wherein the transmission comprises a housing including an inner cover and an outer cover connectable to the inner cover to provide the housing having an interior chamber defined therein. The housing outer cover comprises a primary clutch dome defining a primary clutch chamber within the interior chamber of the housing, a secondary clutch dome defining a secondary clutch chamber within the interior chamber of the housing, and an air passage extending from the primary clutch dome at a proximal end to the secondary clutch dome at a distal end, the air passage structured and operable to direct air from the primary clutch chamber to the secondary clutch chamber.

    Abstract: An adjustable youth electric off-road vehicle includes an adjustable youth frame constructed and arranged to adjust to a variety of different youth sizes. The adjustable youth electric off-road vehicle further includes a battery assembly supported by the adjustable youth frame, the battery assembly being constructed and arranged to store electric power. The adjustable youth electric off-road vehicle further includes an electric propulsion system supported by the adjustable youth frame. The electric propulsion system is electrically coupled with the battery assembly and is constructed and arranged to provide off-road vehicle propulsion using the electric power while the adjustable youth frame is adjusted to any of the different youth sizes. With such a vehicle, the adjustable youth frame may be adjusted over time to a variety of different youth sizes to accommodate a growing youthful rider.

    Abstract: A magnetorheological damper, wherein the damper comprises a housing that is at least partially filed with a magnetorheological fluid, and a magnetorheological valve disposed within the housing. The valve includes a magnetically permeable core having at least one coil reservoir formed therein, and at least one conductor coil, wherein each conductor coil is disposed around a portion of the core within a respective one of the coil reservoir(s). The valve additionally includes a fluid flow path adjacent the conductor coil(s). The fluid flow path is structured and operable to allow the magnetorheological fluid to flow adjacent the conductor coil(s). The valve further includes at least one coil cover, wherein each coil cover is disposed over a respective one of the coil(s) such that the respective coil is protected from exposure to magnetorheological fluid flowing through the fluid flow path.

    Abstract: A technique provides power-limiting regenerative braking to a utility vehicle. The technique involves detecting that the utility vehicle is moving in a forward direction at a first speed. The technique further involves applying a first regenerative braking power level to the utility vehicle in response to detecting that the utility vehicle is moving in the forward direction at the first speed. The technique further involves detecting that the utility vehicle is moving in the forward direction at a second speed which is less than the first speed. The technique further involves applying a second regenerative braking power level to the utility vehicle in response to detecting that the utility vehicle is moving in the forward direction at the second speed. The second regenerative braking power level is lower than the first regenerative braking power level.
