Abstract:
A plastic container is provided that includes a lower supporting base portion; a sidewall portion extending upwardly from the base portion; a neck portion extending upwardly from the sidewall portion; and a closure. The neck portion includes a support flange having an upper and lower surface, threads, a tamper-evident formation, and a dispensing opening at the top of the neck portion. In an embodiment, the weight of the neck portion is 3.0 grams or less; and the vertical distance from the top of the dispensing opening to the lower surface of the support flange, including the threads and the tamper-evident formation, is 0.580 inches or less. A preform and method for making a container are also disclosed.
Abstract:
The intermediate stretched-blow molded container (1) comprises a biaxially stretched-blow molded hollow body (10) that comprises a container side wall (10a), at least one recess (101) that is formed in said container side wall (10a), that is off-center from the second vertical central plane (P2), and at least one convex and outwardly protruding deformable region (102) that is formed in the container side wall (10a). The maximum gripping dimension (DR) of the stretched-blow molded hollow body (10) measured next to and on one side of the convex and outwardly protruding deformable region (102) is smaller than the maximum dimension (DL) of the stretched-blow molded hollow body (10) measured next to and on the other side of convex and outwardly protruding deformable region (102). Said convex and outwardly protruding deformable region (102) comprises an outwardly protruding invertable lateral wall (1020) that is an extension of a second lateral wall (1011) of the recess (101) and that extends beyond a first lateral wall (1010) of the recess (101), and a front wall (1021) that is an extension of this outwardly protruding invertable lateral wall (1020). The junction (H) between the bottom portion (1012) and the second lateral wall (1011) of said recess (101) forms an hinge on the whole periphery of the outwardly protruding convex deformable region (102) for inverting the said outwardly protruding convex deformable region ((102) and the second lateral wall (1011) of the recess (101) by pushing them inwardly in order to form a concave grip (G).

Abstract:
A biaxially stretched, blow molded container obtained by molding a laminated test tube shaped preform molded by an injection molding process. The container has a neck, a body, and a bottom, and having an outer shell and an inner bag to be laminated in a peelable manner with an outer layer inner surface. The inner bag can be deflated under a pressure drop therein. The outer layer and an inner layer have a laminar structure in which the lamination extends from a predetermined position of the neck to a lower end face. The layers are peeled from each other, starting from a lamination interface between the layers. This interface is exposed outside at the lower end face of the gate mark and can be used as an air intake vent that enables outside air to be taken into the space between layers.
Abstract:
A method and device for supplying an inert gas in a beverage filling plant are provided. The method includes feeding surplus process heat from the beverage filling plant to a heat exchanger, feeding an inert gas from an inert gas source to the heat exchanger, heating the inert gas in the heat exchanger, and supplying the heated inert gas for use in the beverage filling plant.
Abstract:
A machine for producing and filling containers, having: a heating device for thermal conditioning thermoplastic parisons; a blow-molding device for deforming the thermally conditioned parisons into containers by blow-molding or stretch blow-molding; a device for filling the containers with a product; and a transfer device for conveying the containers from the blow-molding device to the filling device. A nozzle arrangement is arranged in the region of the transfer device for impinging a cooling liquid on the containers. The nozzle arrangement has a gas nozzle connected by a gas line to a gas source. The nozzle arrangement has a liquid nozzle connected by a liquid line to a liquid source. The gas nozzle and the liquid nozzle are arranged and oriented relative to one another such that a liquid jet from the liquid nozzle strikes a gas jet from the gas nozzle in an intersection region.
Abstract:
Container comprising an inner container and an outer container with facing surfaces, wherein at least part of at least one of the facing surfaces has a surface roughness higher than about 0.1 Ra and/or wherein the difference in roughness of said facing surfaces is at least over a part more than about 0.1 Ra.
Abstract:
Elongated shaft for a catheter including a single layer biaxially oriented nonporous thermoplastic polymer tubular member having a Shore durometer hardness of less than about 75D is provided. Elongated shaft for a catheter prepared by a process is also provided.
Abstract:
A container (1) and a screwable closure (2) comprising a hollow body (11) and a neck finish (10) terminated by a wide-mouth opening (100). Said neck finish comprises a neck support ring (102) and a neck portion (101) extending between the wide-mouth opening (100) and the neck support ring (102). The neck portion (101) comprises an upper portion (1010) and a reinforced lower portion (1011). The inner face (1011b) of the reinforced lower portion (1011) is transitioning to the inner face (1010b) of the upper portion (1010) along a transition step (1011c) in such a way that said reinforced lower portion (1011) is thicker than the upper portion (1010) at least in a top part of the reinforced lower portion (1011). The neck support ring (102) is below the removable closure (2).
