Abstract:
An adhesive composition that provides improved structural integrity and insulative properties when applied to a substrate is provided. The adhesive composition includes an emulsion-based polymer, a plurality of microspheres; and optionally, water and plasticizer.
Abstract:
A shipping container has an inner insulative sleeve having an outer, longitudinally extending, polymer film with lateral edges folded on itself to form a pocket having an opening and sealable by a flap. An assembly has an inner, longitudinally extending, biodegradable film having lateral edges and a longitudinal extending pad composed of textile cuttings and microbial and super-absorbent powders. The inner film extends longitudinally around the pad and is attached to the pad.

Abstract:
An insulating device can include an aperture having a waterproof closure which allows access to the chamber within the insulating device. The closure can help prevent any fluid leakage into and out of the insulating device if the insulating device is overturned or in any configuration other than upright. The closure also prevents any fluid from permeating into the chamber if the insulating device is exposed to precipitation, other fluid, or submersed under water. This construction results in an insulating chamber impervious to water and other liquids when the closure is sealed.
Abstract:
A multiple compartment container assembly for containing at least two articles arranged one above the other. The assembly includes a carton defining a first, lower compartment and a tray suspended within carton, wherein the tray defines a second, upper compartment. The tray may be provided with tabs extending therefrom suitable for removable engagement with corresponding notches defined in the carton. The tray's tabs may each include one or more forwardly or rearwardly extending projections for engaging portions of the carton adjacent the carton's notches in order to ensure the tray is held in a suspended position within the carton. The carton's notches may each include one or more forwardly or rearwardly extending projections extending therein for retaining the tray's tabs and preventing the tabs from becoming inadvertently upwardly disengaged from the notches. It will be appreciated that the notches' projections may be deflected in order to disengage the tray's tabs.
Abstract:
A machine for continuously forming heat-reflective blanks is provided. The heat-reflective blanks each include a blank of sheet material and a thermal film patch coupled to the blank. The machine includes an intake station configured to align a first blank of sheet material and a second blank of sheet material for application of a first thermal film patch and a second thermal film patch, respectively. The intake station is further configured to maintain a spacing between the first blank and the second blank. The intake station includes adjustable hold-down bars for maintaining an alignment and the spacing of the first and second blanks. The machine also includes an applicator station configured to apply the first and second thermal film patches to the first and second blanks, respectively, to form a first heat-reflective blank and a second heat-reflective blank, and an ejection station configured to eject the heat-reflective blanks.
Abstract:
According to one aspect, an apparatus for storing temperature-sensitive goods is disclosed. In one embodiment, the apparatus includes a base and at least one side connected to the base. The base has a lower portion and an upper portion extending from the tower portion. The base and at least one side define a receptacle portion for receiving Temperature-sensitive goods, and the at least one side is configured to fold to substantially enclose the receptacle portion.
Abstract:
An insulating container to replace expanded polystyrene includes a freestanding, cellulose-based substrate encapsulated with a polymeric film. The encapsulated cellulose-based substrate may be provided with an insulating value to match that of expanded polystyrene. Additionally, the encapsulated cellulose-based substrate may be recycled in the OCC recycle stream.
Abstract:
An apparatus for shipping articles under controlled temperature conditions, having a metallic article enclosure surrounded by a set of insulating panels, with a predetermined volume separation between the enclosure and the insulating panels, and the predetermined volume being filled with phase change material.
