Abstract:
A novel transparent double-sided adhesive sheet for image display device is provided, that, under the constraint of holding down the thickness of the adhesive sheet to 250 μm or less, can relieve a distortion arising within the adhesive sheet after laminating even if a member has a stepped portion of 50 μm to 100 μm in height on the laminating surface.Proposed is a transparent double-sided adhesive sheet for image display device which is used for the purpose of laminating an image display device constitutive member having on a laminating surface a stepped portion of 50 μm to 100 μm in height and a flat surface portion, and another image display device constitutive member, wherein a thickness of the maximum thickness portion of the adhesive sheet is 250 μm or less, and a gel fraction (a) at a position in contact with a stepped portion after laminating is 10% or greater and smaller than a gel fraction (b) at a position in contact with a flat surface portion.
Abstract:
An appliqué having anti-corrosive adhesive is provided by embodiments of the present invention. This appliqué includes a thin polymer film and a pressure sensitive adhesive. The pressure sensitive adhesive hacks the thin polymer film and includes corrosion-inhibiting additives. These corrosion-inhibiting additives reduce or eliminate the need for a chromated primer layer beneath the appliqué. Elimination of a chromated primer layer has environmental advantages as well as cost benefits through the elimination of a processing step. Additionally, environmental benefits are realized by eliminating the toxic effects often associated with the use of chromated primers.
Abstract:
An application for an arced sealing tape has a bottom interfaced to an inner wall. The surface of the inner wall that is closest to a center point of the arc has an adhesive and the bottom surface of the bottom also has an adhesive.
Abstract:
To provide a transparent plate having an adhesive layer, wherein voids are less likely to remain at the interface between the adhesive layer and another plate; a display device, wherein formation of voids at the interface between the display panel and the adhesive layer and at the interface between the transparent plate and the adhesive layer, is sufficiently prevented; and processes for their production. A transparent plate having an adhesive layer, which comprises a protective plate (a transparent plate) and an adhesive layer formed on a surface of the protective plate, wherein the adhesive layer comprises a layer portion spreading over the surface of the protective plate and a seal portion enclosing the periphery of the layer portion; a display device having the transparent plate bonded; and processes for their production.
Abstract:
A process, apparatus, and system for joining at least two work pieces together using at least two adhesives each having substantially different cure times. A first adhesive having a first cure time is used to form a first bond between the two workpieces, the first adhesive having a first cure time. A second adhesive having a second cure time, the second cure time being substantially shorter than the first cure time is used to form a fixturing bond. The fixturing bond maintaining the first and second workpieces in position prior to the first adhesive curing.
Abstract:
The tile installation system provides a system for installing an architectural covering material to a substrate surface utilizing a plurality of release sheets where each release sheet has a top side surface and a bottom side surface. A plurality of discrete adhesive substrate portions are positioned on the top side surface of the release sheet, wherein the top side surface of the release sheet has a stronger bonding affinity with the plurality of adhesive substrate portions than the bottom side surface.
Abstract:
A process for affixing an insulating label to a container involves applying a thermoplastic hot-melt adhesive to a first edge of the label and applying a thermoplastic hot-melt adhesive and a thermosetting adhesive to a second edge of the label. The insulating label is applied to a container, and provides improved heat resistance, thereby reducing occurrences of delamination during subsequent heating of the container.
Abstract:
A method of making fastener tabs includes providing a length of tab substrate. A first adhesive is applied to a first adhesive region of the length of tab substrate. A second adhesive is applied to a second adhesive region of the length of tab substrate. The first and second adhesive regions are adjacent such that the first and second adhesive regions have a common longitudinal edge. The first and second adhesive regions have different adhesion characteristics.
Abstract:
Adhesive articles, particularly useful as reusable closures, comprising a moisture resistant substrate and a removable adhesive covering at least a portion substrate surface, the adhesive having a Moist Loop Test result of at least about 25 N/25 mm at a test plate temperature of 5° C. The closure may also include a permanent adhesive covering another portion of the substrate surface. The adhesive articles provide easy application to packages and exhibit good adhesion performance in the presence of moisture, such as from refrigerated or frozen food packaging.
Abstract:
A new and improved use for adhesive material is disclosed in which the adhesive material would be applied to the back surface of photograph prints for mounting on surfaces. On each photographic print, two different types of adhesive areas would be utilized, with these two different types of adhesives being a permanent adhesive area and a removable adhesive area. The permanent adhesive area would generally surround the perimeter of the back surface of each photographic print and would be approximately null inch in diameter. The removable adhesive area would cover the remaining portion of the back surface of a photographic print and would have approximately the same amount of adhesiveness as that of a Post-Itnull Note. By only using the removable adhesive area, a user could attach, detach, and reattach a particular photographic print many times. When first developed, both the permanent adhesive area and the removable adhesive area would be covered by a covering which would have peel tabs which a user could pull up to remove the coverings.
