    Abstract: Provided is a steel cord for reinforcing rubber articles which has both rubber penetration and productivity and which allows to reduce the weight of a tire without compromising the strength of the tire when applied to a tire, and a pneumatic tire using the same.The steel cord for reinforcing rubber articles of the present invention is a steel cord for reinforcing rubber articles comprising a core formed by arranging two core filaments in parallel without twisting the filaments together, and six sheath filaments twisted around the core. Letting the diameter of the core filament dc (mm), the diameter of the sheath filament ds (mm) and sheath filament twist pitch p (mm), an average sheath filament interval D represented by the following Formula (I): D=[L−6ds{1+(L/p)2}1/2]/6  (I), (where L=(π+2)dc+πds) is from 25 to 80 μm.

    Abstract: The present invention is to provide a hybrid core rope which does not require maintenance or a hybrid core rope capable of reducing a maintenance task. The hybrid core rope includes a resin solid core in which a plurality of spiral grooves is formed in the longitudinal direction on an outer peripheral surface thereof, a plurality of fiber bundles respectively spirally wound around the outer peripheral surface of the resin solid core along the plurality of spiral grooves, the fiber bundles having thickness to fill the spiral grooves, and a plurality of steel strands spirally wound around the outer peripheral surface of the resin solid core around which the fiber bundles are wound. The fiber bundles and the strands are respectively wound so as to have angles which are not parallel to each other.

When it is a reinforcement material for a tire belt, the steel cord is capable of satisfying weight lightening, durability and driving stability. The steel cord comprises a core made by parallelly arranging two non-twisted core wires (1) from one layer of sheath made by twisting three to five sheath wires (2) around the core.     Abstract: A tire cord having core filaments (10) performed into a helical configuration while maintaining the core filaments (10) in a parallel, side-by-side relationship. The core filaments (10) are not twisted or stranded together. The cross-section of the tire cord is flattened and confined within an oval-shaped outer bound (21), the oval outer bound (21) being characterized by a major axis and a minor axis. It is desirable that the minor axis be no greater than 60% of the major axis to create the appropriate difference in the bending modulus of the tire cord in the horizontal versus the vertical direction.
