摘要: The invention relates to a combustion engine and to a process for producing energy by means of expansion work in combustion engines. The invention is based on the problem of providing a possibility for supplying oxygen to the combustion space of a self-compacting combustion engine in an energy-efficient manner. According to the invention, with an arrangement for carrying out an intensified combustion for automatically increasing pressure of the combustion gases and using them in a combustion engine for performing mechanical work, the above-stated problem is solved in that an oxygen storage material is present in the combustion space so that a self-compressing combustion process is made possible by storing the oxygen in the oxygen storage material in the combustion space.

摘要: A straight port and a swirl port supply low-oxygen-concentration gas and high-oxygen-concentration gas into a combustion chamber of an engine such that high-level-oxygen-concentration gas and low-level-oxygen-concentration gas are formed from the high-oxygen-concentration gas and the low-oxygen-concentration gas in an adjacent region of the combustion chamber, which is adjacent to a fuel mist injected from an injection hole of a fuel injection valve. The high-level-oxygen-concentration gas is located in a corresponding area of the adjacent region, which is generally opposite from the fuel injection hole, and the low-level-oxygen-concentration gas is located in a remaining area of the adjacent region, which is other than the corresponding area of the adjacent region.

摘要: The solution of the invention is an internal combustion engine with oxygen concentrating equipment (80) wherein the air taken in the cylinder space (15) during the intake stroke and pushed out by the piston (5) during the charging stroke charges one or more cells (41A-41Z, 51A-51Z) of the oxygen concentrating equipment (80) and after separating most of the nitrogen in the cells (41A-41Z, 51A-51Z), the oxygen rich air is injected into the cylinder space (15) through a compressor (33) at the beginning of the expansion stroke by an injector (11). The fuel is also introduced into the cylinder space (15) at the beginning of the expansion stroke by a fuel injector (19). The ignition may be spark ignition, self-ignition or their combination.

During a service mode, a service technician may stream ionized air from an external ionized air source to an engine cylinder via the engine intake system. Concurrently, the service technician may connect a service tool to a vehicle diagnostics port to relay operator input, the input allowing a vehicle control system to rotate the engine and adjust engine throttle and cams.
