    摘要: The invention is an automated robotic system for the production and testing of formulations at a very high throughput. It is an integrated system of hardware and software capable of preparing and evaluating hundreds of emulsions per day. The system can formulate aqueous solutions (SL), oil in water emulsions (EW), suspo-emulsions (SE), micro capsule suspensions (CS), micro-emulsions (ME), and suspension concentrates (SC) at the 1 ml to 25 ml scale. The system can process emulsions rapidly in an automated way and enable very flexible formulation recipes to be introduced.The system allows chemists to generate experimental samples of varying recipe and method to be conducted in parallel with projected throughput of up to 1200 formulations processed and characterized per day. Materials and consumables can be distributed from storage storage systems to the work stations where dispensing of ingredients in various states can be performed, including solids, liquids, gels, pastes, suspensions and waxes. The emulsions formed can be characterized using methods including phase diagnosis, turbidity analysis, viscosity and particle sizing using automated test equipment. An integrated module can also perform Tank Mix Compatibility testing in high throughput mode. The modular system allows future processes and tests to be added, either to a station, or as a new station. The software capability includes tracking of processes from start to finish and the integration of analytical data with the as-designed and as-formulated experimental results.

The filter paper (30) is placed in a package, (22) having openings (25) for absorbing and punching of the sample and the covering (23) is provided with a bar code (29).

    摘要: An automatic filter changer that automatically inserts and removes a filter from a fluidic path. Filters are introduced into the automatic filter changer in stacks. The lead filter and each stack is removed from its respective stack one by one by a filter separator. The separated filters are deposited onto a shuttle plate which moves the filters into their respective fluidic paths. Fluid couplers connect to each filter to complete their respective fluidic paths and allow fluids to be filtered before sampling. Once collection of the samples is complete, the filters are removed from the fluidic path and discarded or saved for reuse. The shuttle path is returned to its original position to receive new filters to repeat the process again. A graphic user interface is provided to allow the user to program a specific set of instructions to automate the entire process.

    摘要: An infrared spectrometer system with automated tablet sampling includes an infrared spectrometer providing a modulated output beam to a sample position, and reflected and transmitted light detectors. A tablet holding wheel is mounted to advance multiple tablets one at a time to the sample position. The tablet holding wheel includes a tablet wheel base having a plurality of transmission openings therein in a circular pattern around a central axis of the base, grippers adjacent to each of the transmission openings that are movable inwardly and outwardly, and a cam ring mounted to and rotatable with respect to the tablet wheel base, the cam ring being operatively engaged with the grippers to move the grippers outwardly and inwardly to engage and hold tablets over the transmission openings. The tablet holding wheel can be automatically rotated to move a tablet to the sample position where analysis can be carried out, to advance the tablet wheel to move the next tablet into position for analysis, and to repeat the process until all of the tablets have been analyzed.
