Abstract:
In one implementation, a computer-implemented method includes determining a location of a mobile computing device using one or more of a plurality of data sources; communicating, by the mobile computing device, with another computing device as part of a two-way video chat session over a first network connection, the communicating including transmitting the location of the mobile computing device; displaying, as part of the two-way video chat session, real-time video from the other computing device; recording video using one or more cameras that are accessible to the mobile computing device; and transmitting, over a second network connection, the video to a remote storage system for persistent storage.
Abstract:
An electronic device is provided which includes a communication interface configured to support a plurality of communication schemes, and a processor configured to receive, through the communication interface, a request message for a video call between the electronic device and a first external electronic device from a second external electronic device, select a first wireless communication scheme to be used for a communication connection for the video call from among the plurality of communication schemes, identify connection information allocated to the electronic device by a third external electronic device connected to the electronic device, using the first wireless communication scheme, and control the communication interface to transmit, to the second external electronic device, a response message in response to the request message such that at least part of the connection information is used for establishing the communication connection.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a control method for a display apparatus and a mobile terminal which includes a camera for taking a photograph and generating an image; a voice input unit which is used to input a voice; a user input unit which receives a user's input; a display unit which displays the image thereon; a wireless communication unit which communicates with a counterpart mobile terminal through a wireless network; and a controller which performs a video call by transmitting to the counterpart mobile terminal video call data comprising a video generated by the camera and a voice input by the voice input unit according user input, displays on the display unit a shared image during the video call, and transmits to the counterpart mobile terminal the shared image added to the video call data.
Abstract:
A system is described herein that facilitates the monitoring of inmate communications. The system provides a remotely-accessible means for a reviewer to monitor a call between an inmate and another person. The system includes a monitoring server and a monitoring station. The monitoring server is configured to receive a call and call information from a communication center and process the call for monitoring, schedule a review of the call; and store the call, the call information, and scheduling data. The monitoring station is configured to receive the call and the call information from the monitoring server based on the scheduling data, and to display the identifying information and facilitate the review of the call.
Abstract:
Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a communication device that includes a communication interface that facilitates a call from a user of the communication device to a communication device of a called party via a network, the call including voice communications of the user. An imaging sensor captures video of the user. A processor compares the video of the user to the voice communications to determine if the video of the user is consistent with the voice communications. The video of the user is analyzed to determine if an identity of the user is authenticated. An indication of user authentication is generated, responsive to determining the identity of the user is authenticated and to determining the video of the user coincides with the voice communications. The indication of the user authentication is sent to the called party in association with the call. Other embodiments are disclosed.
Abstract:
A telecommunications system for use in a secure facility such as a jail, prison or the like. The systems, devices and methods disclosed provide telecommunications, email, other messaging, financial services, vending, and commissary or canteen services for inmates of a secure facility with respect to family, friends and others. The system includes a phone server adapted to be communicatively connected to an external service provider; a monitoring station communicatively connected to the phone server; an account manager server communicatively connected to the phone server, and at least one telecommunications device disposed at the secure facility for use by the inmate and which is communicatively connected to the phone server. A method of telecommunicating, including receiving incomming calls at the secure facility, via the system is also disclosed.
Abstract:
A ringtone assignment system and method are provided. The method includes steps of recording a multimedia ringtone via a first communication device, transmitting a communication linking request to a communication exchange host, transmitting the communication linking request to a second communication device via the communication exchange host to enable the second communication device to feed back ringtone format information supported by the second communication device according to the communication linking request, transmitting the ringtone format information to the first communication device via the communication exchange host to enable the first communication device to code the multimedia ringtone according to the ringtone format information, transmitting the multimedia ringtone from the first communication device to the second communication device, and then decoding and playing the multimedia ringtone by the second communication device. The second communication device is able to recode and assign the multimedia ringtone to the first communication device.
Abstract:
A method for providing an interaction service of a user terminal device is disclosed. The method for providing an interaction service comprises the steps of: executing a video call service with a counterpart device; searching for a peripheral device to be used as a data input source with respect to the video call service; receiving video call data from at least one peripheral device among the detected peripheral devices; and transmitting the received video call data to the counterpart device.
Abstract:
A transmission terminal transmits video data and display data of a screen shared with another transmission terminal to the other transmission terminal via a predetermined relay apparatus. The transmission terminal includes a storage unit that stores relay apparatus information of the relay apparatus to which the transmission terminal transmits the video data; a receive unit that receives the display data from an external input apparatus connected to the transmission terminal; and a transmitting unit that transmits the display data received by the receive unit to the relay apparatus indicated by the relay apparatus information stored in the storage unit.
Abstract:
Communication systems, video endpoints, and related methods are described. A video endpoint is configured to receive commands corresponding to functions of the video endpoint from a mobile electronic device responsive to a user interacting with a remote control interface of the mobile electronic device. The functions include in-call functions. A method includes performing the functions responsive to receiving the commands from the mobile electronic device. A method of transforming a mobile electronic device into a remote control device for the video endpoint includes storing computer-readable instructions at one or more servers. The computer-readable instructions are configured to instruct the mobile electronic device to provide the remote control interface and transmit the commands to the video endpoint. A communication system includes a software distribution server including a data storage device including the computer-readable instructions, and one or more communication elements configured to transmit the computer-readable instructions to the mobile electronic device.
