The computer system includes a processor, a memory coupled to the processor, and a computer readable storage device coupled to the processor. The storage device contains program code which, upon being executed by the processor via the memory, implements the method. In accordance with the method, a layout design of visible information to be printed with visible ink in a book is generated, wherein the visible information including an article; and a layout design of invisible information to be printed with invisible ink in a book is generated, wherein the invisible information includes a Universal Resource Locator (URL) of an address of a web server at which additional information is located, the URL being encoded in a code within the invisible information, and the additional information being associated with the article.
Abstract:
This patent document relates generally to steganography and digital watermarking. One claim recites an apparatus comprising: memory for storing data representing an image or video, in which the data comprises first data corresponding to first color data, second data corresponding to second color data and third data corresponding to third color data, the image or video to host auxiliary information; a processor programmed for: weighting the first data, the second data and the third data according to at least the following two factors: i) a color direction associated with an expected embedding direction; and ii) expected image capture or signal processing; and determining from weighted first data, weighted second data and weighted third data, changes in one or more image or video attribute(s), in which the auxiliary information is conveyed through the changes. Of course, other claims and combinations are provided too.
Abstract:
A gloss effect image pattern is created on a recording medium by electronically creating a first electronic pattern ink, the first electronic pattern ink including a first color and including holes, the holes representing areas in the first electronic pattern ink wherein the first color is absent; electronically creating a second electronic pattern ink using the first color and including filled holes, the filled holes of the second electronic pattern ink representing areas in the second electronic pattern ink filled with a second color, the second color being different than the first color; electronically creating an electronic image region; electronically painting, using the first electronic pattern ink, a background of the electronic image region; electronically painting, using the second electronic pattern ink, a foreground of the electronic image region; and rendering, using marking materials, the electronic image region on the recording medium.
Abstract:
A cellular phone configured to be used by an operator. The cellular phone includes a light-emitting element, a digital camera, and a memory. The light-emitting element is configured to emit light of a specific wavelength to illuminate invisible information written in invisible ink in an object to make the invisible information visible. The invisible information includes a Universal Resource Locator (URL) of an address of a web server at which additional information is located. The URL is encoded in a code within the invisible information. The digital camera is configured to take a picture of the illuminated invisible information to capture an image of the code. The memory is configured to store the captured image.
Abstract:
This invention can generate printed matter on which a multi-valued discrimination image of three values or more cannot be visually confirmed under ordinary light but can be visually confirmed via an infrared camera under infrared light. To this end, a holding unit holds items of color information C1, C2, and C3 each indicating usage amounts of printing materials of three types, used by a printing apparatus, which have a color difference under visible light not more than a pre-set threshold, and which have different infrared light ray absorption rates. When a latent image generating unit generates infrared light ray latent image data of three tones, a discrimination image data generating unit decides one color information item Ci (1≦i≦3) held by the holding unit, and outputs the decided Ci to an output unit which outputs the received pixel values to the printing apparatus.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a method and apparatus for the production and labeling of objects in a manner suitable for the prevention and detection of counterfeiting. Thus, the system incorporates a variety of features that make unauthorized reproduction difficult. In addition, the present invention provides a system and method for providing a dynamically reconfigurable watermark, and the use of the watermark to encode a stochastically variable property of the carrier medium for self-authentication purposes.
Abstract:
An information processing apparatus includes a selecting unit and a processing unit. The selecting unit selects an embedding method from multiple embedding methods for embedding information in content data, on the basis of a first effect affecting correct interpretation of the information embedded in the content data. The processing unit causes the content data in which the information is embedded by using the embedding method selected by the selecting unit, to be processed.
Abstract:
This patent document relates generally to steganography and digital watermarking. One claim recites, a method of encoding auxiliary information in an image or video. The method includes: determining a watermark tweak for an attribute of an image or video sample to encode auxiliary information in the image or video; and altering color values of the image or video sample to effect the watermark tweak, said altering alters color values based at least in part on both: i) visibility of color value alterations, and ii) anticipated watermark detection. Of course, other claims are provided too.
Abstract:
The presently claimed invention relates generally to digital watermarking and data hiding. One claim recites a method including: receiving data representing video, the data comprising at least first digital watermarking embedded therein; decoding the first digital watermarking embedded in the data to obtain a first identifier; and then converting the data into low bandwidth Internet video; and embedding at least the first identifier with digital watermarking into converted low bandwidth Internet video, the identifier identifying at least the video. Of course, other combinations are described, enabled and claimed as well.
Abstract:
A technology that enables accurate position specification on an image displayed on a screen to perform processing and correction of the image data is provided. When the image is printed on a sheet on which a dot pattern is printed, a reference point of the image on the display device is set and the reference point is printed in a visible mark together with the image. This mark is imaged with an imaging means, and calibration is performed in which position coordinates of the marks on the sheet and the reference points of the image are matched, thereby preventing variation in coordinates between designation made on the sheet with the imaging means and processing on the image.
