    摘要: The present invention comprises cyclotron display devices similar to cathode ray tubes (CRTs) in which the CRT electron gun is replaced by one or more cyclotrons that produce electrons using lower voltages and energy costs than a CRT electron gun does. This can be done both with monochrome and color displays, as disclosed. In addition, the electrons emerge from the cyclotron with adequate velocity, thus obviating the need for accelerating electrodes. The need for electron focusing is also greatly reduced, or eliminated, since the electrons emerge from the cyclotrons as beams, rather than as diffuse clouds. The cyclotron display assembly can be made to be significantly shorter than the conventional electron gun CRT. In addition, an array of cyclotrons, rather than just a single one, can be used, so that each cyclotron maps to a fractional portion of the video screen. This further shortens the length of the cyclotron display.

    摘要: A method for providing a resistive focusing lens structure for an electron beam device including forming a suspension of particles of a mixture of, by weight, of about 33-50% of an oxidic conductive material including about 40-60% of a lead ruthenate, about 25-38% of a lead titanate and about 2-15% of a ruthenium oxide, and of about 50-67% of a glass including about 30-40% of silicon dioxide (SiO.sub.2), about 3-7.5% alumina (Al.sub.2 O.sub.3), and about 53-67% of lead oxide (PbO) in a suspending medium consisting essentially of a non-acidic liquid having a boiling point of less than 150.degree. C., applying the suspension to an inside surface of a glass member to thereby provide a coating of the particles on the inside surface, firing the coating at a temperature of 700-900.degree. C. and before of after firing the coating, patterning the coating. The present method provides highly reproducible resistive focusing lens structures.

    摘要: In-line electron guns for color picture tube suitable for improving the resolution of the color picture tube is disclosed. In the electron guns, the beam passing openings of first and second accelerating/focusing electrodes are projected or depressed in specified directions, thus to let the focusing actions of the main electrostatic focusing lenses in the vertical direction and in the horizontal direction not only be carried out at different positions but also be differently carried out. Therefore, the electron guns not only reduce the vertical slenderness of the beam spot formed on the center of the screen but also nearly remove the hollow parts of low electron density formed above and below the core part of each beam spot formed on the edge of the screen.

    摘要: A picture display device comprises an evacuated envelope and is provided at a first side with an electroluminescent display screen and at an opposite side with an electron gun (6). Between the electron gun (6) and the display screen, the device comprises deflection means with which an electron beam generated by the electron gun (6) can be deflected during operation. The electron gun (6) has at least an electron beam-generating portion (20) and is provided with a main lens system (40) having a first electrode (41), a final electrode (45) and at least one intermediate electrode (42-44) across which a main lens voltage is gradually applied step-wise during operation so as to form an electron-optical main focusing lens. The gun is further provided with means for presenting a dynamic potential (V.sub.d) to at least an electrode (41) of the main lens system (40), which is the first electrode viewed in the direction of propagation of the electron beam (7-9). For an increased dynamic focusing, a coupling capacitor (50) is arranged at least between said first electrode (41) and the subsequent electrode (42) of the main lens system (40).
