摘要: A deck component for use in a highway railroad crossing. The component comprises a flat pad of molded, comminuted rubber dimensioned to lie with companion pads inside and outside the rails and spiked to the ties. Pad bearing is provided against the webs of the rails, as well as against the tie plates and the ties. The result is a stabilized crossing easily installed and of long life.

摘要: A containment reservoir for a liquid, such as petroleum oil, comprising, a walled ground containment space or pit, opening upwardly, with the space containing a liquid impervious flexible liner generally following the contour of the space, and with the liner comprising a layer of pervious fabric material having on at least one of its sides a layer of liquid impervious material, such as rubber, the liner being operable to prevent escape of liquid through the liner from the containment space; means are provided coacting with the liner covered containment space for removing liquid from the reservoir. A covering layer of pervious fabric material filters anything, including liquid, passing into the reservoir. A method of forming the reservoir from predetermined width strips of liner stock, and a method of retaining and salvaging oil spilled along a railroad track environment is also disclosed.

The bracing elements extend along the axis of symmetry extending longitudinally centered between the rails and/or under the rails. Preferably, two or more adjacent ties with the bracing elements are formed into a unit, for instance a cast reinforced concrete unit.

摘要: A feedstock processing apparatus for applying, distributing, and compacting feedstock in defined layer heights may include a chassis with a traction drive and a first and second undercarriage, a frame structure that connects the two undercarriages over a span width of the feedstock processing apparatus, a material feeding device coupled to the frame structure, a material distributing device coupled to the material feeding device and displaceable in certain sections over the span width and configured to apply the feedstock in layers on soil in different, predefinable height positions between the undercarriages, and a compacting device displaceably mounted on the frame structure and/or the material distributing device. The compacting device and the material distributing device can be displaced in a manner dependent on one another respectively along a predefinable movement path. A corresponding method is also disclosed.

Once the precast substructure elements are buried, the substructure is completed and the bridge span is installed. Other methods include installing precast superstructure elements with a formwork system and forming a bridge substructure and excavating underneath the superstructure once the superstructure is formed.
