摘要: The present disclosure advantageously refers to systems and methods for predicting an oil mixture's blend compatibility without mixing the components and/or without performing direct blend testing. The techniques described use a correlation between near infrared spectroscopic information, asphaltene solubility parameter Ra, and maltene solubility parameter Po to accurately predict blend compatibility using the equation P=Po(blend)/Ra(blend). A P≥1 indicates the blend is compatible. These techniques are useful in, for example, refineries to predict and therefore reduce or eliminate fouling due to asphaltene deposits.

摘要: The present invention refers to a method for online monitoring, without the need for sampling and in real time, the precipitation of inorganic salts in aqueous streams related to the petroleum industry. This method is based on the use of the NIR technique with the aid of the FBRM technique. The NIR technique makes it possible to collect spectra and monitor the variation in absorbances, concerning the formation of particles of inorganic salts in the aqueous solution, while the FBRM technique provides the number and size of precipitated particles through the reflection of light emitted by a beam of Incident light in aqueous systems in the presence of different solvents, pH conditions, supersaturation, temperature and pressure. Thus, a set of collected NIR spectra is correlated with data provided by FBRM through a mathematical (chemometric) treatment and mathematical models based on artificial neural networks combined with principal component analysis were employed to estimate the quantity and size distribution of particles precipitated over time. The application of these process analyzers helps to understand the formation and growth of inorganic salt particles from the produced water (rich in carbonates and sulfates), which can precipitate at different stages in oil production and transportation facilities.

摘要: An imaging device includes a camera, light sources, an optical bandpass filter, and a conversion unit. The camera includes an image sensor including a N-band color filter (where N is a natural number greater than or equal to 3). The M types of light sources (where M is a natural number that satisfies 2≤M≤N) have the emission spectral characteristics of having respective peaks in mutually different wavelength ranges within a visible light range and a near-infrared range. The conversion unit generates image signals of M bands each having spectral sensitivity to the corresponding one of the mutually different wavelength ranges by performing a matrix operation on an N-band imaging signal obtained by the image sensor when an article is photographed with the camera. The light application direction and the emission intensity are individually selected for each of the light sources.

摘要: A method of operating an optical icing conditions sensor includes transmitting a first light beam with a first transmitter and a second light beam with a second transmitter, thereby illuminating two illumination volumes. A first receiver receives the first light beam. A second receiver receives the second light beam. A controller measures the intensity of light received by the first and second receivers. The controller compares the intensities to threshold values and determines if either intensity is greater than the threshold values. The controller determines a cloud is present if either intensity is greater than the threshold values. The controller calculates a ratio of the intensities if a cloud is present. The controller determines, using the ratio, whether the cloud contains liquid water droplets, ice crystals, or a mixture of liquid water droplets and ice crystals.
