Abstract: A vehicle panel includes an outer panel layer formed from a first material. The outer panel layer includes a first side, a second side, and a peripheral edge. A second panel joining surface is arranged inwardly of the peripheral edge. An inner panel layer formed from a second material that is distinct from the first material is arranged across the second side. The second panel includes a first side portion, a second side portion, and a peripheral edge portion. A panel bonding layer is joined to the peripheral edge portion. The panel bonding layer is formed from a third material that is distinct from the second material. A bonding material is disposed between the second panel joining surface and the panel bonding layer creating a chemical bond between the panel bonding layer and the second panel joining surface.

Abstract: A method for manufacturing a current collector for an electrode of a battery cell includes providing a wire mesh current collector including wires that have a diameter and form mesh junctions; and rolling the wire mesh current collector using a first roller and a second roller, wherein the first roller and the second roller are spaced by a predetermined gap. The predetermined gap is less than 2 times the diameter of the wires of the wire mesh current collector.

Abstract: A system for managing a vehicle set includes a controller having a processor and tangible, non-transitory memory on which instructions are recorded. The vehicle set includes a plurality of autonomous vehicles each having a respective telematics unit adapted to communicate with the controller. The controller is adapted to receive notification of an event in real-time and identify at least one center of the event. The controller is adapted to determine a respective status of the vehicle set in real-time, including a respective availability and a respective proximity to the event. The controller is adapted to dispatch selected ones of the vehicle set to the event based in part on the respective status and assign event duties to the selected ones of the vehicle set. The event duties including forming a boundary around the at least one center of the event by being physically stationed around the at least one center.

A system includes a controller that operates to identify the presence of the vehicle at a wash facility, and to determine whether an operator of the vehicle has accepted entry assistance. When the operator has accepted entry assistance, the controller prepares the vehicle for entering the wash facility, determines a path into the wash facility, and assists the operator in entering the vehicle into the wash facility via the path.

The maps relate the motor's operating space (torque and speed) to corresponding efficiency solutions. The combination of control parameters and settings that yields the highest motor system efficiency at an operating point may be determined from the multiple efficiency maps and used in controlling the motor.
