    Abstract: Supporting Multipath Transmission Control Protocol (MPTCP) subflows using multipath links, and more specifically supporting MPTCP subflows using Wi-Fi Multi-Link Operation (MLO) or cellular multi-link support may be provided. A multipath link may be established between an Access Point (AP) and a station (STA). The STA may mark the multipath link as Multipath Transmission Control Protocol (MPTCP) capable. Next, a request for an addition of a MPTCP subflow may be received. In response to receiving the request, the MPTCP subflow may be bound to the multipath link, and data from the MPTCP subflow may be sent over the multipath link.

    Abstract: Adaptive transition between an inactive state and an idle state may be provided. An end node device may be configured with an end node device upper threshold. Next, it may be determined that that client devices are inactive preferred. Then the client devices determined to be inactive preferred may be assigned to a Radio Resource Control (RRC) inactive state and to the end node device. One or more of the client devices previously assigned to the RRC inactive state may be assigned to an RRC idle state and to an intermediate device until a number of the client devices assigned to the end node device is less than or equal to the end node device upper threshold.

    Abstract: This disclosure describes techniques for authentication related to verification of identity for network access. The techniques may include sending a challenge associated with authentication to a network to a mobile device. In response to sending the challenge, the techniques may include receiving a challenge response from the mobile device. The challenge response may include biometric credential information associated with a user of the mobile device. The challenge response may also include an indication of an authorization assertion associated with the authentication to the network. In some examples, the techniques may include tailoring access to the network for the mobile device based on the biometric credential information.

    Abstract: Presented herein are techniques to facilitate visited network selection by a user equipment (UE) based on slice considerations. In one example, a method may include requesting, by a UE that is roaming among a plurality of visited mobile networks, registration for a network connection associated with a slice type; obtaining, by the UE from home mobile network for the UE, a priority for each of the plurality of visited mobile networks and an indication of one or more slice types provided by each of the plurality of visited mobile networks; selecting, by the UE, a highest priority visited mobile network of the plurality of visited mobile networks that provides the slice type; and establishing, by the UE, the network connection with the highest priority visited mobile network of the plurality of visited mobile networks that provides the slice type.

    Abstract: In one illustrative example, a user plane function (UPF) configured for use in a private 5G network of an enterprise may receive, from a user device, a domain name system (DNS) query associated with an application; send, to a DNS server, one or more corresponding DNS queries based on the DNS query; receive, from the DNS server, one or more DNS query responses which include an IP address and metadata including an application identifier for the application; and send, to a control plane function, a message for reporting which includes the application identifier. In response, a dedicated Quality of Service (QoS) Flow may be created for traffic for the application according to a selected QoS policy associated with the application identifier. For obtaining the metadata, the UPF may interact with a DNS server configured with Extension mechanisms for DNS (EDNS) or a DNS as Authoritative Source (DNS-AS) mechanism.
