    Abstract: An apparatus, computer readable medium, and method for overlapping basic service set (OBSS) indication in a high-efficiency wireless local-area network (HEW). An apparatus of a high-efficiency wireless local-area network device is disclosed. The apparatus including transceiver circuitry and processing circuitry configured to receive a frame and determine whether the frame is a frame transmitted from a basic service set (BSS) or a frame transmitted from an OBSS based on one or more media access control (MAC) addresses of the frame. The MAC address may include an indication of a BSS of the HE wireless device. If the HE wireless device is an access point, then a second part of the MAC address may be a predetermined pattern, the second part of the MAC address may be a formula applied to a first part of the MAC address, or an individual/group bit of the MAC address may be set.

    Abstract: An apparatus of a first high-efficiency (HE) access point (AP) or station for spatial reuse is the disclosed. The apparatus includes processing circuitry configured to: decode a first portion of a first packet; and if the first portion indicates the first packet was transmitted by a second HE AP or station and that the first packet is an overlapping basic service set (OBSS) packet, then if a preamble detect energy is below a threshold, cause to be transmitted a second packet simultaneously with a portion of the first packet after the first portion. The processing circuitry may be configured to determine the first portion was transmitted by the second HE AP or station if a field in a physical (PRY) header or a second field in a media access control (MAC) header indicate the first packet was transmitted by the second HE AP or station.

    Abstract: Apparatuses, computer readable media, and methods for sending and receiving multi-user request-to-send frames in a high-efficiency wireless local-area network (HEW) are disclosed. HEW frames are sent with frame types and subtypes the same as legacy frames with a length field greater than a legacy length to indicate the frame is a HEW frame. An apparatus of a high-efficiency (HE) wireless local-area network device is disclosed. The apparatus including transceiver circuitry and processing circuitry configured to receive a frame comprising a legacy frame type, a legacy frame sub-type, and a length in a legacy signal field (L-SIG), and determine the frame is an HE frame if the length is greater than a threshold length, wherein the threshold length is greater than a second length of a legacy frame of the legacy frame type and legacy frame sub-type.

    Abstract: Embodiments for an access point (AP), station (STA) and method for communication are generally described herein. An access point (AP), configurable to operate in a basic service set (BSS), the apparatus comprising memory. The AP further comprising processing circuitry coupled to the memory. The processing circuitry configured to encode a physical layer convergence procedure (PLCP) protocol data unit (PPDU) for transmission to stations operable in the BSS. The PPDU may comprise a media access control (MAC) header portion. The processing circuitry may encode signaling in the MAC header portion of the PPDU that defines a spatial reuse restriction and the spatial reuse restriction may restrict spatial reuse by stations operating in a BSS that is different from the BSS of the AP. In an embodiment, processing circuitry coupled to the memory may encode the spatial reuse restriction in an HE-A control field of the MAC header portion.
