Abstract:
A method for controlling an analysis system is presented. The method comprises receiving, by an encryption unit, authentication data of a user. In the case of a successful authentication, a user-specific security code is generated by the encryption unit. The security code is outputted by the encryption unit to the authenticated user. The security code and the user-ID are received by an authentication unit coupled to the analysis system via a user-interface coupled to the authentication unit. The security code is decrypted by the authentication unit. If the decrypted security code matches with the user-ID, the user is authenticated at the authentication unit and an authentication signal is generated by the authentication unit for permitting the user to initialize at least one function of the analysis system.
Abstract:
A device for sampling, transporting and/or disposal of fluid media in the nl and μl-range comprises a substrate with an open or closed capillary-like groove or channel respectively, the substrate with the open or closed groove or capillary respectively is bent or arcuated at least at one location. The substrate comprises at least one end into which the open or closed capillary-like groove or channel respectively is extended, which end is shaped according to its application or use as e.g. needle-like, straight-lined cut, tip-like, at least most half circle-shape, rounded, etc.
Abstract:
A device for gripping vessels is presented. The device comprises a mount, a support having a longitudinal axis coupled to the mount so to be rotatable relative to the mount around the longitudinal axis, a rotating mechanism for rotating the support, a gripper coupled to the support so to be translatable relative to the support along the longitudinal axis. The gripper has jaws for gripping a vessel, a translating mechanism for translating the gripper, at least one actuator for driving the translating mechanism and/or rotating mechanism and at least two reference elements fixed to the mount in at least two different stop positions. The jaws are passively biasable towards each other for holding a vessel in positions other than the at least two stop positions. The jaws are actively biasable away from each other by pushing the gripper against a reference element in one of the stop positions.
Abstract:
A tube rack transfer device for transferring racks is presented. A first rail extends in a first horizontal direction and a second rail extends in a second horizontal direction orthogonal to the first direction. The second rail moves along the first rail and comprising a transfer head movable along the second rail. The transfer head comprises a control pin to be coupled with one of: an input pusher, translatable in the second direction, for transferring a rack from a carrier to a sampling area of an analyzer; an output pusher for transferring a rack from the sampling area to a carrier; a rack for transferring the rack between different carriers and/or between different positions of the same carrier. An in-vitro diagnostic instrument comprises an analyzer for carrying out tests on biological samples, a sample unit for inputting/outputting racks, a sampling area for withdrawing samples from tubes, and a transfer device.
Abstract:
A cradle and methods of using embodiments of the cradle are described. The cradle has a proximal side and a distal side, where the proximal side has a skin attachment member for releasable attachment to a patient's skin. The distal side includes a device attachment member configured to attach an initially separate medical device. The cradle comprises an electronically controlled optical indication device, the electronically controlled optical indication device being configured to provide optical indications to the patient when the cradle is attached to the patient's skin.
Abstract:
A multi-part device for separating plasma from whole blood is provided, with a sample taking unit for receiving whole blood, a filter unit with a layered filter with multiple layers for extracting plasma, and a pumping unit, typically a plunger pump, for creating a partial vacuum in the filter unit. The filter unit and a plasma collector vessel with a conical tip extending towards the filter unit are contained in a filter cartridge, which may be taken apart after plasma extraction, thus exposing the conical tip of the plasma collector vessel for sample input into an analyser.
Abstract:
A lancet magazine for use in a lancing aid is described comprising a plurality of lancets each having a lancet body at the proximal end of the lancet and a lancet tip at the distal end of the lancet, where the proximal end of the lancet points in the direction of the proximal end of the housing of the lancet magazine and the distal end of the lancet is aligned in the direction of the distal end of the housing and the lancets in the unused state are completely surrounded by the housing. Furthermore, an extension unit is movably connected to the housing in such a manner that the housing can be extended by movement of the extension unit in the direction of the distal end of the housing such that the lancet is prevented from emerging from the lancet magazine.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to novel bis-iridium-based Ir(III) complexes, labels manufactured using these complexes and a method for producing such complexes.
Abstract:
The present invention provides deoxynucleoside tri- or tetraphosphate comprising a 3′ nitrate and a detectable label covalently bound to the oxygen atom of an oxymethyl or oxyallyl or oxypropargyl substitution of a nucleobase. Such compounds provide new possibilities for future Sequencing by Synthesis technologies.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for detecting antibodies against the TpN17 antigen of Treponema pallidum in an isolated sample wherein a peptide sequence of Vibrio cholerae lipoprotein 15 (VcLp15) or a partial sequence thereof is used as a reagent for reduction of interference, i.e. for minimizing false positive results. In addition the invention relates to fusion polypeptides comprising a VcLp15 peptide sequence and a chaperone, to their use as an additive in an immunoassay for said reduction of interferences and for minimizing false positive results and to a reagent kit for detecting antibodies against Treponema pallidum antigens in an isolated sample comprising a TpN17 antigen and said VcLp15-chaperone fusion polypeptide.
