Abstract:
Example signature generation methods disclosed herein include transforming a block of signal samples from a time-domain representation to a frequency-domain representation including multiple frequency bands. Disclosed example signature generation methods also include fitting a signature function to at least a subset of the frequency bands. Disclosed example signature generation methods further include generating a set of signature values representative of the block of signal samples, the signature values generated based on a set of angles calculated using the signature function.
Abstract:
A system and method for recommending tags for a multimedia content element to be tagged. The method includes obtaining a plurality of signatures for the multimedia content element to be tagged, wherein each of the generated signatures represents a concept, wherein each concept is a collection of signatures and metadata representing the concept; correlating between the plurality of signatures to determine at least one context of the multimedia content element to be tagged; searching for at least one contextually related multimedia content element, wherein each contextually related multimedia content element matches at least one of the determined at least one context; and identifying at least one tag, wherein each identified tag is associated with at least one of the at least one contextually related multimedia content element; generating a recommendation including the identified at least one tag.
Abstract:
A content segmentation, categorization and identification method on consumer devices (clients) is described. Methods for content tracking are illustrated that are suitable for large scale deployment and applications such as broadcast monitoring, novel content publishing and interaction. Time-aligned (synchronous) applications such as multi-language selection, customized advertisements, second screen services and content monitoring applications can be economically deployed at large scales. The client performs fingerprinting, scene change detection, audio turn detection, and logo detection on incoming video and gathers database search results, logos and text to identify and segment video streams into content, promos, and commercials. A learning engine is configured to learn rules for optimal identification and segmentation at each client for each channel and program. Content sensed at the client site is tracked with reduced computation and applications are executed with timing precision. A method and user interface for time-aligned publishing of content and subsequent usage and interaction on one or more displays is described.
Abstract:
In one aspect, an example method for outputting an alert indicating a functional state of a back-up audio-broadcast system involves: a computing device receiving a first audio-stream that represents first audio-content; the computing device generating a first signature based, at least in part, upon an extent of single-channel/multi-channel transitions included within the first audio-content; the computing device receiving a second audio-stream that represents second audio-content; the computing device generating a second signature based, at least in part, upon an extent of single-channel/multi-channel transitions included within the second audio-content; the computing device making a determination that the generated first-signature and the generated second-signature lack a threshold extent of similarity; and responsive to the determination that the generated first-signature and the generated second-signature lack the threshold extent of similarity, the computing device outputting an alert.
Abstract:
A method including the steps of: receiving, by a computer system including at least one computer, a first electronic media work uploaded from a first electronic device; extracting one or more features from the first electronic media work; linking the first electronic media work with a reference electronic media work identifier associated with a reference electronic media work to generate correlation information relating the first electronic media work with at least an action associated with the reference electronic media work identifier; storing the correlation information; receiving, from a second electronic device, a query related to the first electronic media work; correlating the query with action information related to an action to be performed based at least in part on the correlation information; generating machine-readable instructions based upon the action information; and providing the machine-readable instructions to the second electronic device to be used in performing the action.

Abstract:
An example apparatus to generate media monitoring information includes a processor to collect a first data record corresponding to a first media presentation session, and collect a second data record corresponding to a second media presentation. The example apparatus also includes a memory in circuit with the processor, the memory to: store a first end timestamp in the first data record indicative of a first time at which the first media presentation session ended; store a second end timestamp in the second data record indicative of a second time at which the second media presentation session ended; and store the first end timestamp in the second data record.
Abstract:
Systems at a radio station provide representations to an acoustic fingerprinting service of audio content being broadcast for the provision of metadata identifying the audio content by the acoustic fingerprinting service back to the radio station for transmitting over the air or over the Internet simultaneously with the broadcast audio.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus to verify and/or correct media lineup information are disclosed. An example method includes accessing, by executing an instruction with a processor, a script received from an audience measurement entity. The method further includes executing, with the processor, the script to tune a set top box to respective ones of a plurality of channels. The method further includes collecting, by executing an instruction with the processor, media identification data associated with the respective ones of the channels. The method further includes transmitting media presentation data to the audience measurement entity, the media presentation data mapping the media identification data to the respective ones of the channels.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus to adaptively gather audience information data are disclosed. The disclosed methods and apparatus monitor system factor(s) and select one or more sensors from a plurality of sensors positioned to gather audience measurement data based on the monitored factor(s). Thus, the disclosed methods and apparatus adapt to the conditions they face by selecting an amount and/or type of audience measurement data they gather.
