摘要:
A gas turbine system that includes a compressor, a turbine component and a load, wherein fuel and compressor discharge bleed air are supplied to a combustor and gaseous products of combustion are introduced into the turbine component and subsequently exhausted to atmosphere. A compressor discharge bleed air circuit removes bleed air from the compressor and supplies one portion of the bleed air to the combustor and another portion of the compressor discharge bleed air to an exhaust stack of the turbine component in a single cycle system, or to a heat recovery steam generator in a combined cycle system. In both systems, the bleed air diverted from the combustor may be expanded in an air expander to reduce pressure upstream of the exhaust stack or heat recovery steam generator.

A system for capturing carbon dioxide from flue gas exhausted from a burner. The system may generally include a solid sorbent configured to absorb carbon dioxide at a first temperature and release carbon dioxide at a second temperature. In addition, the system may include a flue gas passage defining a flow path for the flue gas exhausted from the burner. The flow path may include an absorption zone in which the flue gas is at the first temperature and a regeneration zone in which the flue gas is at the second temperature. The solid sorbent may be cycled between the absorption zone and the regeneration zone such that carbon dioxide from the flue gas is absorbed by the solid sorbent within the absorption zone and released by the solid sorbent within the regeneration zone.

A method and apparatus for controlling a temperature a component of a gas turbine is disclosed. A compressed gas for use as a coolant is provided. The coolant is moisturized at a moisturizeing unit. A circulating unit circulates the moisturized coolant to the component of the gas turbine to control the temperature of the component. The coolant can be air, nitrogen, and a mixture of air and nitrogen in various embodiments. The component of the turbine can be a blade of a turbine section of the gas turbine, a turbine nozzle and a combustor, for example. A combustor can combust a mixture of fuel and the moisturized compressed coolant gas to reduce a NOx emission of the gas turbine.

Low grade heat recovered from various sections of an integrated gasification system is used to drive an absorption chilling cycle. In an exemplary embodiment, the recovered low grade heat is used to heat a two component working solution that is pumped through a closed cycle absorption chilling system. The heated working solution is separated into a rich stream and a lean stream. The rich stream is condensed to produce a liquid rich stream that is throttled to reduce its temperature and then evaporated to produce a cooling load. The cooling load may be used for auxiliary cooling needs in the integrated gasification system. The rich vapor stream produced by the evaporating step is mixed with the lean stream to produce a mixed stream, which is cooled in an absorber to produce the working solution for the cycle to be repeated.

A modified gas turbine system is provided that adapts an advanced pressurized fluidized bed combustor cycle for use with existing combustion turbine technology. To accommodate current combustion turbine technology, the air extracted from the compressor discharge is limited, e.g. to about 20% of the total. The additional air required for the APFBC cycle is provided by an auxiliary source of compressed air. The compressor discharge air that is not extracted is used for combustion of the fuel gas produced by the carbonizer and also provides internal cooling as required by conventional combustion turbine design. A separate expander turbine is used to recover energy from the vitiated air from the PFBC. Energy from the vitiated air may further be recovered by directing the expander exhaust to an HRSG.
