摘要: A stand for a knitting machine having an upper substantially horizontal main support frame with downwardly extending legs for supporting the stand at a predetermined height above ground level and releasably attached to the main support frame, or pivotally attached thereto to enable them to be folded thereagainst. The knitting machine is clamped to a support section which is pivotally supported on the main support frame for rotation about a substantially horizontal axis for tilting the machine from one operating position to another. The support section consists of two parts extending from either end of the main support frame and interconnected by a common pivot axle with means to clamp the axle in any desired position.

摘要: The flood protection device is a door, patio door, window, french window, garage door or similar solution for closing apertures in buildings offering flood protection up to a predetermined height that includes a number of conduits which may be installed within a wall, a window, door or any other barrier in the outer perimeter of a building and conduits that extend through the barrier to allow water to enter into the building above the pre-determined height. The conduits are sited at a height at or below the height at which the force exerted upon the barrier by external water is equal to the maximum force which the barrier can withstand without undergoing failure. The flood protection device may be fitted with a visual and audible internal indicator and locking or disabling mechanism to prevent the device being opened in the presence of flood water.

摘要: Stimulating power line carrier injection with reactive oscillation comprises exciting a tank circuit to oscillate at the carrier frequency by sinking pulses of current between one node of a capacitor in the tank circuit and the other node of the capacitor. A power transformer is connected to a distribution system to inject power line carrier onto the power line. An excitation circuit sinks short pulses of current between one node of a capacitor and the other node of the capacitor that is connected in a tank circuit arrangement with an inductor and the secondary winding of the power transformer. The tank circuit oscillates at the frequency of the excitation pulses if the resonant frequency of the tank circuit is close to the frequency of excitation. The oscillating current is coupled onto the power line system through the power transformer. The phase of the power line carrier signal is shifted by shifting the phase of the excitation pulses.

摘要: A series of retroreflective materials of graduated reflectivity each comprising a plurality of transparent elements wherein each of the retroreflective materials has a different proportion of the plurality of transparent elements which are covered with a reflective coating. The materials can be used to dress a set design suitable for filming using chromakeying techniques. A plurality of different objects on the set are covered in different ones of the series of retroreflective materials according, for example, to the position and orientation of the object on the set.

摘要: Compositions and methods effective in inhibiting abnormal or undesirable cell proliferation, particularly endothelial cell proliferation and angiogenesis related to neovascularization and tumor growth are provided. The compositions comprise peptide molecules, optionally containing one or more individual peptide chains covalently linked, and optionally modified with polyethylene glycol (PEG). The methods involve administering to a human or animal the composition described herein in a dosage sufficient to inhibit cell proliferation, particularly endothelial cell proliferation. The methods are useful for treating diseases and processes mediated by undesired and uncontrolled cell proliferation, such as cancer, particularly by inhibiting angiogenesis. Administration of the composition to a human or animal having prevascularized, metastasized tumors is useful for preventing the growth or expansion of such tumors.

摘要: A two-piece clamping arrangement for engaging and holding an elongated element, such as a tubular conduit for fluids, or the like. An upper and a lower clamp member are provided to engage oppositely-facing surfaces of the elongated element. One of the upper or lower clamp members includes at least one longitudinally-arranged alignment surface to assure proper alignment of the clamp members when the clamp is assembled about the elongated element. The alignment surface also serves to stiffen the clamp member against bending and thereby serves to increase the holding force of the clamp assembly.
