Abstract: A charge-transfer salt formed from an organic semiconductor doped by a polymer comprising a first repeat unit substituted with at least one group comprising at least one n-dopant. The n-dopant may spontaneously n-dope the organic semiconductor or may n-dope the organic semiconductor upon activation. An electron-injection layer of an organic light-emitting device may comprise the n-doped semiconductor.

Abstract: Fluorescence-based sensors having favourably low detection limits and high sensitivity are disclosed. The sensors comprise one or more solution processable colour filters that are used together with organic LEDs and photodiodes. The colour filters are used to narrow the wavelength range of the OLED emission and/or to reject any light from reaching the photodiode which is not from analyte fluorescence, thereby enhancing the device sensitivity.

Abstract: A method for the fabrication of organic electronic devices includes forming a fluoropolymer layer over a first area of a substrate and a first set of organic electronic devices. The first set of organic electronic devices are pre-fabricated on a second area of the substrate. The method further includes selectively removing the formed fluoropolymer layer from areas within the first area of the substrate by using a liquid solvent. The method further includes subsequent fabrication of organic electronic devices on the substrate.

Abstract: A charge storage device and system comprises an anode assembly and a cathode assembly, each of the assemblies comprising a charge storage layer of a conjugated polymer material, wherein the conjugated polymer material of the charge storage layer of the cathode assembly is air stable and non-ionic in its discharged state, and wherein the conjugated polymer material of the charge storage layer of the anode assembly includes is air stable and non-ionic in its discharged state. The polymer materials are fully conjugated along the main chain, and are made by processes that do not involve oxidative or electrochemical polymerisation. The charge storage layers are formed from solutions of these polymers, and are amorphous and continuous.

Abstract: A light-emitting device having an anode, a cathode, a first organic layer disposed between the anode and the cathode, and a second organic layer disposed between the anode and the first organic layer and adjacent to the first organic layer is provided. The first organic layer contains a phosphorescent compound of formula (1), and the second organic layer contains a crosslinked body formed from a polymer compound having a crosslinkable group in which the average number of the crosslinkable groups in the polymer compound per molecular weight of 1000 is at least 0.5.
