    摘要: A highwall mining borehole backfill composition utilizing waste glass and fly ash can be used as a backfill utilizing waste products that would normally have to be landfilled. The composition is a cost effective mixture of cement, fly ash, glass and water and may incorporate additional fine and coarse aggregates as well as chemical admixtures. Fly ash takes the place of some or all of the fine aggregate, and cullet takes the place of coarse aggregate in a mixture of concrete. Use of the backfill supports the overlying strata so as to eliminate or reduce the need for barrier pillars.

    摘要: The relative combustion phasing of a homogenous charge compression ignition engine is controlled by controlling the introduction of ions and free radicals to cylinders in the engine. The engine has an engine housing with at least a first and second cylinder and an intake system that introduces a combustible mixture of air and fuel to the cylinders. A piston is disposed in each of the cylinders and is operable to compress a combustible mixture until the mixture auto ignites, without the introduction of a spark.

    摘要: A method and device for reducing positron emitter isotope labeled CO2 to positron emitter isotope labeled CO generally includes introducing a volume of positron emitter isotope labeled CO2 into a first heated reaction vessel comprising a metal oxide, such as Iron (II) Oxide such that the CO2 is reduced to CO upon contact with the Iron (II) Oxide. The volume is then transferred to a second reaction vessel to remove any un-reacted CO2, preferably, via a soda-lime trap. The volume is then transferred to a target, e.g., a storage vessel or subject. The CO2 includes one of [11C] or [15O]. The first reaction vessel is, preferably, heated to a temperature of between 900 and 1000° C., and more preferably, to between 925 and 975° C., and even more preferably, to approximately 950° C. Preferably, the Iron (II) Oxide powdered and has a particle size of about −10 mesh.
