摘要: A gateway enables medical (including genetic and genomic) laboratories and health care providers (collectively “clients”) to communicate electronic messages with each other without developing and maintaining an interface for each peer. The gateway translates messages sent between the parties. The gateway receives messages from each sender in a form, and containing diagnostic codes, preferred by the sender. For each received message, the gateway ascertains an intended receiving client. Each client may specify one or more receivers (such as applications) that are to receive messages sent to the client, as well as a separate form, and optionally a set of codes, for each receiver. For each receiver, the gateway generates translated messages, according to the receiver's preferred form and/or codes. The gateway sends the translated messages to each of the designated receivers. The gateway may include a validation component to check incoming messages to ensure the messages include required information and that information values are valid or acceptable. The gateway may include an exception handler that notifies a sending client if a message from the client fails to be translated or sent correctly. The gateway may maintain a repository in which the gateway stores copies of messages the gateway sent or would have sent to clients. The gateway provides an interface, such as a secure web interface, to this repository. Clients may access messages or lists of messages, especially messages the clients are not otherwise capable of receiving, through this interface. The gateway may store copies of some of the data that flows through the gateway in a bioinformatics database, which may be automatically analyzed by the gateway or queried for research or patient care purposes.

摘要: A visual axis and alignment measurement system and method of using same are disclosed. In particular, a visual axis measurement system of the present disclosure includes a visual axis measurement device and a near point target. The visual axis measurement device includes a pair of opaque lenses, each having a slit therein, that are adjustably coupled via a coupling mechanism. The visual axis measurement device also includes a linear measurement device. Via self-adjustment, the patient may align the respective slits for his/her dominant and non-dominant eyes along his/her visual axes until the near point target is in focus. After which, the distance between the centers of the slits is measured in order to determine accurately the placement of bifocal lens segments within eyeglass lenses. In doing so, it is ensured that the prescription for, for example, progressive bifocal corrective lenses, which have narrow viewing areas, is correct.

摘要: A power transmission system including a direct current power source electrically connected to a conversion device for converting direct current into alternating current, a conversion device connected to a power distribution system through a junction, an energy storage device capable of producing direct current connected to a converter, where the converter, such as an insulated gate bipolar transistor, converts direct current from an energy storage device into alternating current and supplies the current to the junction and subsequently to the power distribution system. A microprocessor controller, connected to a sampling and feedback module and the converter, determines when the current load is higher than a set threshold value, requiring triggering of the converter to supply supplemental current to the power transmission system.

摘要: The present invention is a system for providing GPS users with a high level of confidence in the integrity and accuracy of received GPS signals. A waveform monitor allows the GPS satellite to verify the integrity of its transmitted signal by detecting its own transmitted waveform. The waveform monitor includes a receiver mounted in the GPS satellite. The receiver receives the GPS signal transmitted by the GPS satellite. The waveform monitor then compares the received GPS signal with a copy of what the GPS satellite intended to send which is stored in memory. The waveform monitor can compare the received digital navigation message with the copy stored in memory, and/or compare the received RF waveform with waveform data stored in memory. The waveform monitor thereby determines whether the transmitted signal has integrity. The GPS satellite then sends an integrity message to GPS users to inform the GPS users of the integrity of received GPS signals from that satellite.

摘要: In a vapor drying system, solvents such as isopropyl alcohol (IPA) are boiled and condensed to provide a means of removing water and other contamination from process parts loaded into the equipment. The parts enter the apparatus via an automated lift assembly. Upon entering the vapor zone, solvent condenses on the parts and fixtures due to a temperature differential, displacing the contaminants. This condensate/contaminant waste stream gravity drains to a buffer tank below via a sloped, temperature-controlled drip tray. After vapor condensation on the parts ceases, drying is accomplished using superheated vapors formed in a stabilized zone generated by one or more offset boil sumps and separate vapor heat exchangers. Any liquid solvent remaining on the parts is flash-dried in the vapor zone, so that parts emerge clean and dry. The invention incorporates a computer-implemented PLC to control process parameters, cover mechanism, transport mechanism, safety features during operating, idle and standby conditions.
