Abstract:
A gas turbine engine having a turbine section cooling system is disclosed which is able to cool the turbine section of the gas turbine engine to an optimal operating temperature range, while at the same time not substantially degrading engine performance. The disclosure provides a number of different structures for doing so including the provision of turning foils, turning holes, and turning grooves within a secondary air flow cavity which turns or directs cooling and parasitic leakage air into the turbine section in a direction in substantial alignment with a gas flow path through the turbine section.
Abstract:
Hyperbranched polymers having a plurality of at least two different types of functional groups are described. Specific embodiments include hyperbranched polymers having functional groups of a first type that are substantially uniformly distributed throughout the hyperbranched polymer molecule and a second type of functional group that is substantially uniformly distributed at the terminals of the hyperbranched polymer molecule. The hyperbranched polymers having different types of functional groups are synthesized by reacting one or more monomers having functional groups that are capable of reacting during a set of polymerization conditions to form a hyperbranched polymer, wherein at least one of the monomers contains latent functional groups that are not reactive during polymerization.

A digital camera and a digital video recorder are disclosed, including an input unit, a user interface, an analysis unit, an encoding unit and a storage unit. An analog data is transmitted to the input unit and converted to the digital data. User may choose whether to store the digital data in multimedia message forms by using the user interface. The analysis unit analyzes the digital data and determines the corresponding file format for the multimedia message. The encoding unit encodes the digital data to the multimedia message in the determined file format. Consequently, the multimedia message and/or the digital data are stored in the storage unit.

An aircraft heating system wherein the heater includes a haven (34) constructed from dielectric layers (40-50), conductive lanes (60), bus bars (70), and strips (80-150). Façade sections (41, 51, 61) of the dielectric layers (40-50) and the lanes (60) form the primary heating surface (31). The strips (80-150), along with sections (42, 52, 62) of the layers/lanes, form havens (34) for harbor sections (72) of the bus bars (70).
Abstract:
A heating element is provided with a conductive path pattern which can be printed in a mask-free manner (e.g., drop-on-demand) with existing printing technology. The printing step can be performed, for example, with a thermal inkjet printer, a piezoelectric inkjet printer, an aerosol jet printer, or an ultrasound printer. The ink solution can be formulated so that it establishes an electrically conductive path which is free of polymer binders.

A shredder has a jam proof system with a thickness detector having a contact member which displaces as an article is inserted into the shredder and a resistance generating mechanism which provides a resistance force to the contact member, in response to its displacement. The greater the thickness of the article, the greater the resistance force realized. When a predetermined thickness is reached, there is a significant change in the resistance force. The resistance generating mechanism may include at least two spring mechanisms and provide feedback to the user that the inserted article may be too thick. In addition, the thickness detector may include a thickness sensor. The sensor may communicate with a controller to alert the user, and/or alter the operation of the shredder, in response to the thickness of the inserted article. For example, the controller may visually and/or audibly alert the user, or control shredder motor response.

A functional electrical stimulation system having a boost module to raise an output voltage of a primary power to a first preset voltage, an energy storage module, connected to the boost module, configured to store electrical energy of the first preset voltage, a central control unit configured to generate data packets of electrical stimulation parameters, and an electrical stimulation output channel, connected to the energy storage module, configured to receive the data packets of electrical stimulation parameters, analyze the electrical stimulation parameters from the data packets, convert electrical energy stored in the energy storage module to an electrical stimulation pulse corresponding to the electrical stimulation parameters and apply the electrical stimulation pulse to a part of a user. The functional electrical stimulation system can enhance flexibility and autonomy of an electrical stimulation pulse so that the user can select a personalized electrical stimulation pulse type according to his/her actual conditions.

The present invention discloses a functional electrical stimulation system comprising a primary power, a boost module, an energy storage section, an output control relay, an automatic discharge circuit, a foot/hand controlled switch, a current detection chip and a current limiting fuse. The boost module comprises n DC chopper circuits connected in series, and outputs a high voltage of 100-200V. According to an enable signal and a current detection signal, the output control relay disables/enables the DC boost module. The automatic discharge circuit discharges capacitance of the energy storage section automatically when the relay turns off the power input. The Foot/hand controlled switch, the current detection chip and the current limiting fuse form a triple accident protection circuit. The functional electrical stimulation system maximizes the intensity of electrical stimulation within the range that the human body can withstand. Meanwhile, it provides multiple security protection mechanisms and enhanced reliability to avoid danger during the use.
