摘要: The present application relates to a multifunctional filter medium and a method of manufacturing the same. The multifunctional filter medium of the present application is capable of significantly reducing fine dust, harmful microorganisms, and toxic gases and reducing a pressure decrease during filtration due to exclusion of high-density nanofiber, thereby minimizing energy required for filtration and exhibiting sufficient filtration performance as a single filter medium.

摘要: A multi-layer filter fabric includes a first layer that includes a first non-woven fabric and a second layer that includes a second non-woven fabric. Each layer may include multiple webs. The first and second layers have different median pores sizes and porosities, with the first layer having a larger median pore size and/or porosity than the second layer. The first and second layers may be separated by a scrim. The first and second layers are colored or have visible markings such that the first and second layers are readily distinguished from each other. The multi-layer filter fabric is arranged so that a fluid may enter the multi-layer filter fabric through the first layer and exit through the second layer.

摘要: A method for removing retroviruses from liquid samples and a nanofiber containing liquid filtration medium that simultaneously exhibits high liquid permeability and high microorganism retention is disclosed. Retroviruses are removed from a liquid by passing the liquid through a porous nanofiber containing filtration medium having a retrovirus LRV greater than about 6, and the nanofiber(s) has a diameter from about 10 nm to about 100 nm. The filtration medium can be in the form of a fibrous electrospun polymeric nanofiber liquid filtration medium mat.

摘要: A liquid purification system is provided. Although not limited to water, the purification system is especially suitable for water. The purification system utilizes a vessel having antimicrobial inner wall load bearing surfaces and/or antimicrobial (antibacterial, anti-fungal, anti-mold, etc.) interior non-load bearing surfaces. When the liquid moves within the vessel and contacts the antimicrobial surfaces, the liquid becomes purified or sanitized. The inner wall load bearing surfaces and non-load bearing interior surfaces of the vessel may be manufactured from a host polymer that has antimicrobial organo-metallic additives which form a solid-solution with the host polymer and are distributed homogeneously throughout the host polymer. The host polymer matrix may be an organic material, an inorganic material or an organic-inorganic material blend. The antimicrobial agent polymer matrix may be located in localized zones within the vessel.

摘要: A method of making a multilayer filter and the multilayer filter made by the method. The method includes generally two steps. The first step is to coat a layer of nanofibers on a single side or both sides of a substrate medium to obtain a composite filter medium, and the second step is to fold the composite filter medium in a serpentine fashion to form a multilayer filter. The second step may alternatively be accomplished by stacking up a number of sheets of the composite filter medium to form a multilayer filter having a structure of two layers of nanofibers being sandwiched between two layers of said substrate medium. The resulting multilayer filter produced by either method contains at least one structural unit which has two layers of nanofibers being sandwiched between two layers of the substrate medium.

摘要: Disclosed is a filter for purification of water having a filter medium; and a metal or an alloy thereof which has oligodynamic effect wherein said metal or an alloy thereof is in the form of fibres. A preferred metal is selected from silver, copper, zinc, gold or aluminium. It is preferred that aspect ratio of the fibres is range of 3 to 200. The disclosed filter on an average provides at least 5 log10 removal each of bacteria and virus from water.
