Abstract:
A zone distribution adapter 2 for use as a breakout or tap with twisted pair cables provides a compact configuration that can be employed as a standalone component with a cover 22 enclosing a printed circuit board assembly, or the printed circuit board assembly can be mounted in standard distribution boxes or beneath a low profile access floor. The preferred embodiments of the zone adapter printed circuit board assembly includes a twenty-five pair vertical mount electrical connector 12 soldered to a printed circuit board 8 with four-pair electrical connectors, such as right angle modular jacks 16 or punchdown blocks 20 soldered on the sides of the twenty-five pair connector. Printed circuit board traces 10 connect corresponding positions in the twenty-five pair connector 12 and the four-pair connectors 16, 20. The cover 22 includes a central channel 26 between two raised side sections 28 with an opening 24 through which the mating portion 14 of the twenty-five pair connector extends. Twenty-five pair cable connectors 42 mated to the vertical mount printed circuit board connector 12 are thus positioned on the outside of the cover 22 so that the zone adapter retains a low profile which permitting the use of different cable connector configurations.
Abstract:
A CNG storage tank system with secondary containment and monitoring, such that any leaks from a primary containment tank are initially contained within a secondary containment tank, detected by a CNG sensing system in communication with a monitoring station, such that leaked CNG in the form of methane can be safely and controllably vented to the atmosphere or into CNG capture tanks. In addition, a tank expansion detection system may be employed to detect excessive expansion of the primary containment tank.
Abstract:
A compressed natural gas storage and dispensing system having bulk storage tanks in fluid communication with a natural gas supply source; a primary compressor delivering the natural gas to the bulk storage tanks; dispensing storage tanks in fluid communication with the bulk storage tanks and in fluid communication with fuel dispensers; a secondary compressor delivering the natural gas to the dispensing storage tanks from the bulk storage tanks; wherein when the pressure within the dispensing storage tanks falls below a predetermined minimum pressure, natural gas is delivered from the bulk storage tanks to the dispensing storage tanks, and wherein when the pressure in the bulk storage tanks falls below a predetermined minimum pressure, natural gas is delivered from the supply source to the bulk storage tanks.
Abstract:
A modular pre-cast concrete station (for gasoline, natural gas and/or other fuels) uses culverts that are assembled quickly and conveniently at the building site and, if desired, in the future, disassembled just as quickly and conveniently, thereby saving substantial costs, and thereby providing an entirely new (and potentially huge) market for the culverts.
Abstract:
Oxygen-scavenging polymers and packaging for holding oxygen-sensitive products. A heat treatment process has been found to significantly increase the oxygen-scavenging performance of the polymer. The enhanced scavenging polymer can be effectively incorporated into various packaging, including transparent multilayer containers for beer and juice. In one embodiment, a multilayer package made from the scavenger provides an actual reduction in oxygen content of a contents of the package, over a long period of time (e.g., 24 weeks). The package can be stored unfilled for an extended period (without significant loss of scavenging capability) and will scavenge substantially immediately upon filling with a liquid product. The package may incorporate a relatively low weight percentage of the scavenger, thus providing enhanced scavenging in a cost-effective manner.
Abstract:
Method and apparatus for controlling the delivery of polymer material in a sequential injection molding process. In one embodiment, the method provides: delivering a first shot of a first material simultaneously to a plurality of mold cavities; independently sensing for each cavity a property that is indicative of a volume or flow of material that is delivered to the corresponding cavity during the step of delivering the first shot; independently stopping the step of delivering the first shot to one or more cavities according to a program that uses as a variable a signal indicative of the property sensed for the corresponding cavity during delivery of the first shot; and delivering a second shot of a second material simultaneously to the cavities subsequent to the step of stopping the step of delivering the first shot.

Abstract:
A method of making a plastic container having a body and a finish with at least one external thread includes injection or compression molding a plastic preform having a body and a finish with at least one external thread, blow molding the body of the preform to form the body of the container, and either prior to, subsequent to or both prior and subsequent to blow molding the container body, expanding the injection or compression molded preform finish to form a container finish having at least one injection or compression molded external thread. In the preferred embodiments of the invention, the finish is expanded after the container body is blow-molded. The invention can be implemented to expand a narrow-neck preform or container finish to a wide-mouth preform or container finish.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus in a data processing system for displaying resource allocation information. Allocations of a resource are identified. A plurality of cylinders is displayed, wherein each cylinder within the plurality of cylinders provides a graphical representation of an allocation of the resource relative to other cylinders within the plurality of cylinders.
Abstract:
This invention is directed to a fully shielded printed circuit (PC) card holder, that may be readily "snapped" into the assembly, or disassembled, as the case may be. The holder is intended to receive a PC card, where at least one end of the card is adapted to be electrically connected to an I/O type connector. The holder comprises a generally rectangular bottom cover member formed of a conductive material, corner supports integrally molded to the bottom cover member at the respective corners thereof, where each support includes a lower flange portion to which the bottom cover member is exposed. Further, a generally rectangular upper cover member is provided where the periphery thereof includes a downwardly extending flange adapted to engage the lower flange portion in electrical contact with the bottom cover member over a substantial portion of the periphery thereof. In the assembled condition, the holder provides continuous shielding against distortion of data signals between the PC card and the I/O type connector.
